2026 Cowboys Free Agency Thread…

That's two days in a row, bb. But, I'm not mad. I'm just disappointed. /dad talk

One random thing I didn't realize about Oweh that I just came upon is that the Chargers basically used him last year as a designated pass rusher, he only played about 40-50% or so of the snaps in most games behind Mack and Tulipolotu who were the clear starters.

70% of his snaps were passing downs and usually in clear passing situations (3rd and 5+, etc.).

Some people might argue that he's going to be even more productive in a full-time role, but given his play style and size I think it's more likely that he gets worn down if asked to play 70-75% of the snaps, which is presumably what you're expecting paying a guy 25/year.

I liked him a good bit as a FA option if we wanted to spend money but signing him to 25/year like the Skins did to play a full-time role is the type of FA move that backfires.

One nice thing about Gary is he has only 12 penalties in over 100+ career games, and only like 8 offsides/neutral zone infractions, so basically one a year.

Considering we've consistently had guys getting one of those a month for the last few years it'll be nice to have someone with a somewhat functioning brain.

Williams had 4 penalties and Clowney had 3 last year alone. Parsons had 14 between 2021-24 alone, 18 if you include last year in Green Bay.

That will change in Dallas. Refs just call our games differently. Parsons actually drew holding penalties in GB.

Good. They were sniffing around Peter Woods and I don’t want to draft a DT.
