2026 NFL Draft Chatter

No but you have to be good and Williams isn't very good at anything unless you want Clark and Williams playing 85% of the snaps.

We need more Dlineman. No question about that. We have what, 4 right now?

I actually liked Sam before he tore his ACL. He played out of control but he actually was pretty explosive and good at rushing the passer. Last year he looked like dog shit. Hoping it was just coming back from the ACL kind of thing. But he is probably just trash now. We need more big bodies.

That's why I think they might lean towards the bigger edge types who can move around.

It's not what I'm arguing for exactly but reading the tea leaves that's where I think they'll go. They might even go bigger than I'm thinking and take a DT like Woods instead of an edge who can bounce around.

Trading Osa and Thomas really changed things and they haven't done much to rectify it.

We're almost certainly taking one of those types but it doesn't have to be in the first. Especially for a guy who you expect to be a rotational piece.

And I do think Gary would be able to shift inside during obvious passing situations. But regardless we need more bodies upfront because when you do that you need a pass rusher to place on the outside where you'd expect Gary. I don't trust Simple Sam. Houston is ok sometimes. But that's really where I want a Howell, Lawrence, R Mason Thomas to be able to step in and provide some real speed to flush the QB quickly with EZ on the other side. I'll even settle for a Llewellyn or Reiger later on in the draft. Everyone needs the white pass rusher, relentless effort guy right? But seriously I like both of those guys pass rush ability and length as a round 3/4 type prospect.

No but if you do take one in the first I think they're more than a rotational piece. They'd probably play about as many snaps as anybody except Gary and Quinnen, maybe Clark.

I hate when people do this to kids coming into the draft. There is absolutely no one on this planet who can say for sure if their college game will translate to the NFL. It's not fair to the player. They are already young and very impressionable. So to have this kind of expectation/glory put on them is completely unnecessary.

Jeremiah said his contacts at Georgia over the years are very accurate when it comes to the 40 times of their players and that CJ Allen is a "low 4.5 guy", for whatever that's worth.

That seems reasonable enough. Still worried about this knee swelling now though.

Yea, there's just no real reason to take a LB at 20.

I wouldn't be upset necessarily because I think him, Hill and Rodriguez are all pretty safe bets to be solid starters, but it just feels like a lack of value where even you took a little less to trade back 5-10 spots, you'd still pretty easily get one of those three.

Or just trade for Brooks and be done with it.

Yeah I don't believe him. But if that's really true than his knee really is concerning.

But I believe the reports that he didn't look good in positional drills. Which isn't shocking because I don't think he looked like a great athlete when you watch him play football either. But again, maybe it's knee swelling. Hell maybe he was dealing with knee swelling all season. A swollen knee worries me more than a 4.7 forty.

What offensive skill position would you want the Cowboys to spend a pick on…WR, TE, RB?

In the first 3 rounds? Only RB.

On day 3 I don't really care.

In the first I totally agree. I'll leave that third round pick open if there is someone that I'm just shocked is still there. It would have to be, I had a high second round grade on this guy and just can't believe he is still available. Malachi Fields for example falls to 92. I might have to just say, ok I've got someone that can replace Pickens a year from now. RB it might be Emmett Johnson who I just go, that guy can be my feature RB in a couple of years and now I don't have to worry if Jevonte gets hurt.

TE, I honestly don't think there is one. Maybe I haven't watched the TE's much but I can't see anyone after Sadiq that I'm just blown away by. Most of these just feel like, hey he could be a solid NFL TE. And I'm just not in a position where I'm looking for a "solid" TE that badly.
My preference is way more heavily towards defense at pick 92. I'm just not going to close the window on a RB or WR since the NFL can change so quickly. You think you have WR wrapped up and suddenly Lamb has a knee injury and Pickens decides he doesn't want to play under the franchise tag and I'm trotting Flournoy and Turpin out there as my weapons on offense. When we drafted Lamb we thought we were in great shape at WR with Cooper and Gallup. Shit changes real quickly. I want to add talent.

I was being realistic on WR/TE, if a clear round 2 type guy is there you have to consider him. I'd include Fields and a few others at WR, maybe Stowers at TE.

But realistically I think it's extremely unlikely that there will be a WR or TE I'll want to take at 92.
