I think Rod could be in play at 20. No one questioned elite instincts. Only questions were what kinda athleticism did he have which he has answered in spades.
I'm thinking about him right now.Do you think about him after a small trade down to say 25 or so?
-Nothing really changed positively or negatively for me with guys like Howell, R Mason, Barham, Height, etc. The arm length with Howell is very concerning but ultimately I think he's a really valuable designated pass rusher at the least, I'm just not totally sure that's worth the 20th pick.
I remember someone on this board trying to tell me he wasn't that athletic. Not naming names but it is someone that has posted a lot in this thread.I think Rod could be in play at 20. WTH are you saying, mister man? He's almost like a mini-Bailey in that the testing showed you can't knock him because of the conference he played in.

I don't see how Lawrence isn't moved up. He seems to have everything. Looks like he plays hard, too.
Since when are we afraid to call out people here?I remember someone on this board trying to tell me he wasn't that athletic. Not naming names but it is someone that has posted a lot in this thread.

I don't see how a LBer with elite instincts and now a proven good/great athlete isn't in consideration at 20. Also huge need.I love the player. But perfect example of why I really want to trade down from 20. 20 is too high for him. But damn he is a good player. And we have zero shot at him in the fourth. Hell by the fourth most of the guys we like will be gone.
I want Cashius Howell in this draft. I really do. I think he checks every box except arm length. But that's not a surprise. Like Bain we all knew he didn't have long arms. I just wonder if he will actually make it to 20. And that's also why a drop down at 12 might not be a bad idea either.

What is Rod's weakness that would take him out of later first round consideration? Good size too at 6'1 230
I wasn't referring to that. I was referring to him besmirching the Big 12.To be fair the closest thing to Bailey is Howell in my book. If his arms were longer...
You asked for it. It was you.Name names! Way more fun! Doooooooeeit
I disagree about Howell. I think he is far more physical than you give him credit for. I think he is a full time player in a 3-4 especially.
But let me ask you this, because there was one pass rusher that I sort of am rethinking and it is Malachi Lawrence. 6'4" 253 pounds is about perfect. I loved his pass rush moves in college but the one thing I wasn't sure about was if he was really actually explosive. It's why I had him below the R Mason, Height types. But I feel like maybe I misjudged that. Sometimes a guy can not look super athletic but he is moving faster than he looks.
4.52 forty yard dash, 1.59 10 yard split, 40 inch vert. This guy screams explosive. And if I combine that with what I actually considered very skilled as a pass rusher, I'm starting to think maybe I should have him above the R Mason/Height types. Am I crazy to move him up? I just honestly liked the player but thought he was an average athlete.
