2026 Combine Thread

Rodriguez with a 4.57 and 38.5 vertical easily puts him in the 2nd for me, might even sneak into the late 1st.

Styles basically had the best Combine workout of any off-ball LB ever, so that's great. I don't know who exactly is going to take him but it's hard to see him falling to 12 after that just on principle alone.

I wouldn't even be shocked if Tennessee took him at 4 if Saleh has a hard on for finding his own version of Warner.

A few other random thoughts:

-I wouldn't be surprised at all if Bailey goes 2, he has better size than Reese and is a more polished edge rusher, while he doesn't have the arm length concern of Bain.
-Could easily see Bailey, Reese and Bain going 2-3-4. Everybody seems to want to mock an OT to Arizona but it's hard for me to imagine them taking a guy like Mauigoa over Reese or Bailey just because they need to improve their OL, especially since their edge rush has been a problem for a while and they're still running a 3-4 base.
-Love the "off-ball" LB depth in this class, even if we don't get Styles at 12 we could easily get someone in the 2nd/3rd who could be a starter (after a trade down), if we don't sign Dean of course.
-Kyle Louis would be an awesome pseudo-slot CB/LB/S hybrid in Parker's scheme, really productive, had an excellent Senior Bowl and tested really well. I'd consider him in the 2nd if we added one.
-Nothing really changed positively or negatively for me with guys like Howell, R Mason, Barham, Height, etc. The arm length with Howell is very concerning but ultimately I think he's a really valuable designated pass rusher at the least, I'm just not totally sure that's worth the 20th pick.

I wouldn't over estimate an NFL teams desire to draft for need. And there is a little unknown factor for Reese. Right now he isn't as good of a pass rusher as Bain or Bailey and he isn't as good of a LBer as Styles. But his upside is probably higher than all of them. I could see a less creative defensive coordinator being scared off by the uncertainty of what he is.

But holy shit Reese would be an awesome OLBer in a 3-4. You drop him off and he is a damn good LBer. You rush him and he has elite pass rushing traits. I know there is no way we can get him, but damn he would be perfect for this defensive rebuild.

I'm just shocked that someone in the last 20 years named their kid "Sonny."

There is also one in this combine named Scooby.

I mean I honestly kind of like Dean. I think he is a good player and obviously a good fit.

The injuries are all that really worry me.

He'd obviously be a good fit, and maybe he can be had a bit cheaper because of the injuries, but I'm being facetious because he'd basically be the best (and more expensive) FA we've signed since Carr.

But maybe!

And yet he isn't even the best free agent LBer. Kind of crazy that a guy who is like the 50th or 60th best free agent would be out of reach for us. Like if you were talking about the best free agent LBer OK. But signing like the 6th best free agent LBer is just too big of a signing to hope for.

But hey, maybe the new defensive coordinator can sweet talk Jerry as well as Dean. He seems like he was a pretty loved coach by the Philly players. And obviously Jerry and Stephen love their new DC.

He was my #1 hope at 12. Very little chance he's there now.

But damn, he looked smooth there. Almost like a big WR. I know he's not as fast, but he made me think of DK Metcalf.

He is faster than Lamb...

I appreciate they basically had to compare him to Megatron to find a similar athletic freak. Not as fast but to find a guy 6'5" who can jump that high is kind of insane. Talk about difficult to throw over the top of.

Do you think about him after a small trade down to say 25 or so?
