2026 Cowboys Free Agency Thread…

I haven't done this in quite a few years (probably over 10, tbh). Here are my predictions for the offseason. And, this will be a little surprising to some of you because of all the bullshit that kept commencing last year. So, hang on to your britches, cause I'm about to bullet point this shit.

  • They tag Pickens. I don't think the coaches and/or management see eye to eye with this guy, and they view him as a bridge for this year until they have more draft capital next year
  • They sign 4-5 FAs. Mainly focused on defense but maybe grabbing a RB somewhere along the line. I think they go front 7 heavy in FA. I would say 2-3 edges and the rest LBers
  • Kenneth Murray gets sent packing. But, he has so little instinct he doesn't know where the door is and causes a little stink before he leaves
  • Blue gets released as well if they get any sort of RB in FA. Same as Pickens, I think there is a disconnect between player and coaching staff/FO
  • With us going heavy on front 7 in FA, I predict secondary with both 1st rounders (probably Downs and then Delane (if he is there)). If he isn't they go McCoy
  • Parker leads us to the biggest turnaround we have seen in a very long time on D. I love listening to him talk. He is very intelligent and damn sure knows the Xs and Os. We just need the players

But we don’t have to worry about him being at 12. Because he won’t be at 11, either.

Okay, but that's literally the only way you lose this trade: Giving up a highish third rounder for a very bottom third rounder... Almost a 4th.
 
 
Side note, would be great to see the Packers lose Doubs and Walker.

True, but I thought the idea was to build something, to have either him or the draftees here for years, not just a couple of years where we didn't win anything.

Right. But maybe there is something we don’t know about that would lead to them letting him go. As much as we would like to blame this or that, we don’t know. So, if it comes to that, we took a shot at a dynamic player to improve the team and it didn’t work out for whatever reason. And took that shot for minimal loss.

It wouldn't be the end of the world for sure, but I'd hope we could maximize the value we get for him more than that.

Psh, 2026 is our year. Bust the budget, we are going all in.

It's a win either way. Even in the worst case scenario we get 2-3 years of elite production and essentially get our pick back.
