2025 Season | Super Bowl LX | Gameday Chatter Thread | Seattle Seahawks vs New England Patriots | February 8, 2026

Been thinking it for a while, haven't seen it mentioned lately... but more and more I'm thinking that Simp is right and Goof Son might deserve more grace than we've given him.

He might still not be a good GM. I'm not saying he will be. But to me there's little doubt anymore that Jerry re-asserted himself a year and a half ago at that 2024 preseason PC and it's all been downhill since then. Stephen has not seemed on board with deddy's actions lately. He got visibly annoyed with Jerry's repeatedly calling Micah "Michael" and even corrected him on stage. He talks even less than he used to on his 105.3 shows - I don't think he even likes doing them, and probably only does because Jerry insists on it.

Tldr, by no means am I saying Stephen is some savior, but I'm not holding him very responsible at all for the crap we've seen the last two seasons and we might be a decently run team when he really takes over.

Yea I don't think he'll ever be an actual legitimate GM by any means, but I do think once Jerry is gone that the vibe around the organization will be more stable and run much more like what you see out of most teams.

I think it also might be easier for a HC to establish a winning culture as well since I don't expect Stephen to be as self aggrandizing or sticking his nose in everything.

He'll probably always be a cheap wannabe Moneyball asshole, and it's anybody's guess whether or not he gives up the GM title, but I definitely think things will even out a bit without Jerry's constant nonsense.

They were trying to get more Hispanic households to watch the Superbowl. In the process a lot of non Hispanic households didn't watch it. What is funny to me are the white Liberal Females with the forced "it was amazing" Those same people didn't understand a word and never listened to Bad Bunny before and will never listen to him again. But the whole thing has become a political battle. Instead of what it really is, the NFL caring more about expansion than their current fan base.
You would think they could read the room because this exact same type of thing was tried with Bud Light, NASCAR, Dick's Sporting Goods, etc. and failed miserably.

He had 6 sacks this year let's tap the brakes.
I understand, but that's largely because he's 12 years into the league

I'm saying he arrived in the wrong era. Had he been a rookie 1-2 years ago, the sky would be the limit.

This system is perfect for him

Or does Dallas simply draft too many guys who aren’t leaders?
There’s definitely something wrong with the culture and system there in Dallas. Too many guys who left chattering about the differences in how the organizations operate.

It might be the star culture Dallas craves is inherently counter-productive in a team sport.

At it's best throughout Cowboys history, it only worked when those stars were unselfish workaholics whose ability to deliver in practice and on the field allowed them to demand more from their teammates.

Guys like Roger, Randy, Troy, Emmitt, Drew, Haley, and Irvin were hard to deny as teammates.

Deion was so talented people were in awe, but he's not an example of how I'd like stars to behave 99% of the time.

Similarly, Micah is freakishly talented, but he leaves an impression he's his own guy with his own agenda.

I'd guess it's all about expanding to south America. Maybe even these greedy bastards realize that having teams in Europe will be too hard on the players' bodies with the jet lag, but they think they can do teams in Mexico, Brazil, etc.

It's diversification, period.

They learned a long time ago they can't keep trotting out ancient bands like The Who that nobody GAS about anymore.

The new audiences they need to cultivate aren't watching that stuff, never have and never intend to.

If they don't keep casting a wide net they're not going to have a young audience at all which will choke the life out of the sport faster than literally anything else

Young people don't speak English?

It's not like The Who/Stones/Aerosmith or Bad Bunny was the only binary choice.

The league literally only cares about money and not being embarrassed publicly. They don't give a fuck about the sport itself in any form or fashion beyond keeping fans placated. I have no doubt that if they could increase profits without alienating fans they'd turn the league into flag football tomorrow.

In this case they want to tap into the Hispanic demographic and Bad Bunny is the most popular musician for that demo by orders of magnitude, that's all there is to it.

Goodell can suck a 10 foot cock….that clown has absolutely ruined the NFL and the owners are just as culpable for wanting to line their pockets- plus paying him 40 million a year and renewing his contract every time it pops up.

As long as he gives them a reach-a-round while he’s fucking them in the ass AND they can rake in millions a year for new stadiums, yachts, airplanes, sponsorships, more games, games in every country etc, they are good.

A 20 game season is around the corner and a European based NFL team is probably going to happen too…it’s just a matter of when.

It’s all smoke and mirrors and the game has really suffered for it along with the products put out on the field.

The past few SBs have been duds and no one seems to care….just keep motoring on!

I heard a few minutes of Westwood One radio pregame and they happened to be interviewing Goodell... They asked him about the international games and he as much as admitted (IMO) they would try to have a Euro division.

I don't see any way that works, but these fools have no problem taking a 12 gauge to the goose that's laying the golden eggs.

Turning the NFL into an international league has been his prime objective from day one.
