2026 Random Cowboys Stuff Thread...

And mind you an extension for Pickens won't cost 30 on the cap. We all know how it works. You give him league minimum and then a signing bonus. He ends up costing like 10 mil against the cap. So wohoo to those big savings. You just might save cap in 2027 or 2028 or 2029 that is bigger.

Exactly, assuming we do it the way most sane teams do these things.

I strongly disagree.
But if you read it, I said it as in, "If we sign him to a huge number and he doesn't contribute to winning much."

Which could easily happen. We could be just like the Bengals. I really don't want that to happen even if Pickens (or any WR) does put up big numbers.

Or we could be like the Eagles with two high paid WRs. Hell they won a Superbowl.

Not sure why everyone thinks we are the Bengals. Unless your banking on Dak getting hurt like Burrow seems to every fucking year. We've done way better on the Oline than that.

I misread it as you saying he wasn't contributing this past year and maybe inherently, my bad.

I dunno. Booze soured on him towards the end.

Why not just sign him? No one is going to give up a second for a kicker. No one. Stop trying to be cute.

But the Raiders once drafted a kicker in the first round!

But yeah the kicker game has changed. There are other NFL guys nailing 60+ harder like it's nothing.

Part of me hopes a team tries to snatch him for a second round pick. I know he is great and all. But I think we become too reliant on him at times.

He's an incredible offensive weapon. We really only need to get past the 50 or so to have a realistic chance at getting at least 3 points. That extra ten or so yards of range over most kickers is pretty valuable.

That said, if someone gave up a 2nd to us and signed him, I wouldn't cry over it. I'd love to have a 2nd this year.

Kyle Wilber is a coach now?
Jason Garrett tree!
