On his overall point about players protecting themselves, I agree.

But we talked about that back then, how there was a lot more than a "dime's worth of difference" between what Wade was doing and what Parcells was doing with his antiquated two-gap 34.

Not sure, Browns requested to interview him. Presently for head coach. The guy is sort of a hot name but that may not amount to anything. Just didn't know that we could poach a defensive coordinator from another team just because they aren't calling defensive plays.

I think that's a misinterpretation of what he said. He didn't say the defense is too complicated. He said he is looking for someone that can take something complex and make it simple when teaching it to the players. Let's face it, not all NFL players are brilliant. So you want someone who can teach the scheme well without confusing 90% of NFL players.

No and I get why you would jump to that conclusion. Feels like this team has preached simple defense for a long time. And when it hasn't worked with Nolan for example, the excuse was, the defense was just too complicated. Even Eberflus was supposed to be bringing in this simple scheme. He does basic stuff but it works sort of concept. So I would be worried if the coaches wanted a simple defense.
 


I dunno.

The pending Seahawk FAs are Woolen, overrated Bama corner Josh Jobe and Coby (not Cobie) Bryant. I am not impressed.

Don't care how good he is, I can't stand to hear that full name 200 times per game.

And don't hire any coach based on stuff like this. Just get the best coach possible.
