2025 Cowboys Cuts/Practice Squad Thread…

Damn. "This is your last chance, asshole."

Did they send The Turk to tell him he was staying?

I think he's basically a DT now, he definitely looks a good 20 or so lbs. heavier than the 270 he's listed at.

Yeah, I have no idea. But he is a DE that plays some DT. Or maybe now he is a DT who plays some DE. Either way he is still undersized for DT, big for DE and not a good pass rusher. I hadn't really noticed the guy at all but had been hearing that the Cowboys liked him. To me he is a practice squad quality player. Winfrey is a more pure DT. Which we absolutely need in my opinion with the shit depth we currently have at DT.

So Mafah made it? :towel

And Goodwin gone? :towel

Wait, is that is a legit account? :unsure

That's rough. They released some and they at least waved at others.

Weird holes if things do not change and the 53 on the roster now are who suit up in Philly.

Only two reserve tackles (Thomas, Cornelius) and two guards (Bass, Hoffman)
Six DEs
Only four functional corners because I refuse to count Goodwin as one of them.

Goodwin got cut buddy.

And we all know that if things really hit the fan (i.e. if we're down a starting OT and two backups) we can just move Tyler to LT.

Goodwin will likely be back with Carson going to I.R. to return. You are not getting rid of him that easily.

He is the newest version of Darian Thompson.

Is Goodwin's middle name Garrett? :mad

And so Carson and Mafah will be out for the year? Don't you only get two spots to return?

Well all things considered, I think they got it almost exactly right this year. No real complaints. Which is nice.

Is Goodwin that valuable on special teams to take a roster spot with the new kickoff rules? I guess he covers punts, too, but they can't find another dude after all these years?

We had others before him. It is how we construct the roster. You might as well count on four specialists instead of three that do nothing else of consequence.

Agreed, keeping Goodwin is annoying as fuck but whatever.

Keeping Mazi is probably dumb too, but at least I sort of get wanting to give him one last chance. If (when) he doesn't do shit I'm sure he'll be gone midseason or so.
