ESPN guys arguing NFL should go to a draft lottery

Yeah I don't agree, I think that would be stupid. We aren't like the NBA where one player basically changes everything. And even with the really special players they aren't even often the #1 pick.

Just a different sport that works totally differently. I also am not a fan with what ever the hell MLB does.

The NBA playoffs have been a complete shock so far.

After the Knicks eventually close out the Celtics, either the Knicks or Pacers are headed to the NBA Finals. Even fans of those fan bases didn't see that coming.

Out West it's trending towards an OKC vs Timberwolves conference finals matchup. This wouldn't as big a surprise, given the Thunder came into the season as one of the Finals favorites and Minnesota was just in the conference finals last season.

If I had to choose now I'd say we're headed towards a Pacers vs Thunder Finals matchup. It's not sexy on paper.....definitely not something the networks want, but that would actually be a close series.

Caitlyn Clark with a triple double to start the year.

Man, if she was hot, she'd be one of the biggest stars in the world.

I don't think so. Nobody cares about the wnba. They already try to shove her down our throats.

I haven't watched a single second of the wnba, maybe ever, and yet I know who she is.

Similarly, I haven't watched a single second of curling. But I couldn't name the best curler ever. That actually makes sense.

The coverage of Clark is already way way way outsized compared to the popularity of the sport.

I don't think her being hot, or even looking like a female, would change much of anything.

If no one cares, then why do they sell out of tickets wherever she goes? Why do they move to much bigger arenas that sell out when she goes on the road?

I think she's bigger than she would normally be because there is a contingent of people, some very influential in the WNBA that try to minimize what she's accomplished in college and so far in the WNBA. All the while trying to prop up Angel Reese as being so much better. Whether that's a legitimate argument (it's not) with regarding skill only or the color of Clark's skin.

This sounds weird, but the racism towards Clark and the favoritism towards Reese shown in these arguments has actually helped the WNBA, believe it or not. It has polarized people in the argument and has drawn people to watch to see what all the hype is about.

Yeah there is actually a very large segment that do care. Like it or not she is someone for little girls to look up to.

That was a cheap triple double though. They were up damn near 40 with a few minutes to play and they brought her back in to grab a cheap rebound.

I was rooting for a pulled hammy or something just to stick it to the stat chasers. The Fever have a rookie coach too. They'd have ran his ass out of town immediately if she got hurt chasing a triple double in a game that was over in the 3rd quarter.

Because she's become a star. Which belies your original point that she's not enough of a star due to her not being hot. She's a pretty big star, which was my point because she actually shouldn't be considering the lack of popularity of the WNBA.

I'm shocked the NBA isn't slanting the East towards the Knicks at this point given the other remaining markets.

Yep, second time he's built one of the best teams in the league.

It's crazy seeing what a top GM can do... compared to some other places.

No shit. Wish we could borrow him for a couple if years.
