I think he'll be off the board in the top 40, might even sneak into the 1st.

If he's on the board when we pick in the 2nd he'd arguably be the BPA and depending on what else is available I might just take him.

Yeah I've been talking myself into him a bit in the second. I think he would be a starter from day one at RG. I don't consider it a big need because I think Bass can handle RG. But I think our best shot at being competitive on offense next year might just be to play bully ball on offense. And this kid, Beebe and Tyler Smith could be the perfect combination.

Not sure he lasts to our pick in the second. Some teams may view him as the top center.

Yeah I've been watching casually so I haven't paid that close of attention. He definitely looks twitchy, quick and agile. He has power for a guy who isn't 320 but he looks a bit spazy at times to me. He will fall down or sort of work himself out of a play because he doesn't have a good plan. I think he needs some coaching but you can see the upside for sure.

And I'm with you on the Senior Bowl. Nothing I'd move him down over. But I haven't seen anything to give me Aaron Donald comps either.

Such a massive man, I want to love him. But instead he scares me. Definitely a guy you have to talk to and research his work ethic and personality.

The mental makeup will determine how he does. At the worst, he is probably a David Irving type if his shit is not together.

I mean good rep for him for sure. But other than that, I didn't see top 12 pick Senior Bowl reps. I'd still have him as a 20-32 guy. What I will say is that I think our D-line coach could do for him what he did for Will McDonald.

Also just heard an interview Cowboys draft show did with Walter Nolen. I might be out on him even after a trade down. Dude kind of sounded like a dick when talking about his teammates. I'll just say something feels off about his personality. I'd never heard the guy talk before but I was not impressed. But hey, defenders can be weird, angry people, so maybe I read him wrong.

Yep, I know going into this season there was talk of him as a top 10-15 pick. His highlights in 2023 were really impressive. Like I said, the thought of a 6'6"-6"7" monster in the middle of the D-line is something I love. And he isn't just a total slug either. But his personality would mean a lot as to where I'd draft him. If he has his head on straight and has the work ethic I'd have no problem taking him with our second round pick. If he is David Irving, weird and aloof, I'd have him probably as a fourth round pick.

I mean he was basically talking about his teammates at the Senior Bowl and saying he faced all the double teams while they had it easy. It really sounded like he was bitching that his teammates didn't do enough. Kind of felt like a weird diamond among trash kind of thinking. I don't care if he thinks highly of himself but I really didn't care for the way he thought or talked about his teammates. Again, might be fine for a D-lineman who isn't going to be a leader. But it sort of rubs me the wrong way for a first round pick. And I'm not sure how well that attitude and personality would take to coaching.

On a side note he mentioned that the Cowboys had not talked to him yet. To contrast Jared Ivey stated that he did meet with the Cowboys. He has a much more normal personality. I think he would take to coaching really well. I'm just not sure I'm looking for a 285 pound base end. But he did mention looking up to Buckner, so maybe if he can put on 10-15 pounds.
 


The fact that he dropped out is a concern if he is healthy.

He was flashy but not dominant and could have answered some questions.

Agreed on Ivey, he'd be solid in the second, awesome in the third.

It sucks, but I guess it's just the way it is now. These guys show something good then quit. Anything to help the draft stock. They know no one will hold it against them.

I think they mentioned some minor injury. But this happens every year. A bunch of guys drop out before the game. I personally hate it. I actually think you can learn more from a guy playing in a real game as opposed to drills at practice that don't really simulate what happens in a game at all. I mean how many times do you watch a football game and see an O-lineman go one on one alone against a D-lineman. It never happens. Of course you can learn stuff from the practice and am glad that these guys showed up. I just hate that they skip the game and suddenly you see some last minute call ups just to be able to cover the game.
 


Interesting player who you are kinda rooting for in a Deuce Vaughn sort of way.
 
Zabel has got his ass cut several times by LSU's Saivion Jones.
