The Outrage Thread

Here is a nugget of information that freaked me the fuck out when I first learned it... If you have ever been in a dark room with only a ray of sunlight peeking through the curtains and noticed a lot of particulate matter floating in the air and have wondered what that stuff is, well it's a whole bunch of things including: dust, pollen, germs, and (believe it or not) human epithelial cells. That's right, the human body sheds billions of these cells every day and most of them just float around in the air, and when you consider there are over 8 billion people on this planet, each shedding billions of these little cells, just imagine how many you are inhaling with each breath!

Feel like wearing a mask now?

And don't get me started on what is in ocean water...

I bet if the pay raise was inserted back in it would have passed.

Fuckers.
Actually, shockingly, even though the number of pages was dramatically decreased, the actual $$$'s relatively stayed the same.

* and there was ZERO offset for all of that money.

Makes you wonder what was contained in all those pages taken out if it didn't change the money at all?

That, I was aware of.

No.

According to Grok:

During a government shutdown, the military typically faces a situation where active-duty service members are required to continue working but might not receive their paychecks until funding is restored. Historically, Congress has passed specific legislation to ensure military personnel are paid during shutdowns, as seen in the shutdowns of 1995-1996, 2013, and 2018-2019. However, there's no guarantee this will happen automatically in any future shutdown...

They definitely should and probably will pay the military if the government is shut down.
