NBA Chatter Thread

Even though I don't watch half as much basketball as I did in the 90s, this is still pretty fucking cool:

@Texas Ace all you have to do is replace the "X" in the URL to "Twitter" and it will embed properly.

The French forward from the Olympics, Yabusele, has signed with the Sixers.

I like the signing. He's a good athletic stretch 4. He should be an immediate impact rotation player off the bench.

Big fan of his.

I call him the French Ben Wallace :lol

In all seriousness though, he brings a lot more to the table offensively than Ben Wallace ever did.

Great pickup for the Sixers.

He's also nowhere near as good defensively or as a rebounder, but yea. He was a late first like 5 or so years ago though, so he definitely has some talent and may just be now putting it together.

This Caitlin Clark stuff is unbelievable. She is bringing attention to the WNBA and hated on for it. I don't watch the league but reading through the hatred on social media from the other WNBA players. It's unreal.

Agreed 100%.

Nobody gives a shit about women's sports and especially not that shitty league, but yet thanks to her, people are watching and it's getting coverage.

And instead of appreciating the fact that these games are finally being watched by more than 13 people, they are hating on her and being envious.

I hope she dominates that league for 10 years and wins multiple championships. That'll really make them mad.

Why are other players mad at her? Is it the racial thing? Or simply jealousy?

What happened with Swoops?
It's an ongoing thing of jealousy towards Caitlin Clark.

Earlier in the year during an interview she falsely claimed Clark was a 25 year old 5th year senior who takes 40 shots per game. Basically saying that was the only reason she was breaking all the records. She got called out on her lies by her peers and she got all pissy and started cutting people off.

Also, she's an analyst for WNBA games and has gone out of her way to avoid praising Clark. She'll be lively and interacting with her broadcast buddy but if a topic praising Clark comes up she's been known to basically go radio silent and wait for the topic to change before engaging in the conversation again.

There's a few other things as well but those are a couple of things that have stuck out the most for me.

Swoops seemed like she was a pretty good kid at Tech. Guess not.

Yeah, I didn't know she'd become so bitter. She always came off as likable during her playing days.
Well, I guess I won't have to deal with it since I never watch the WNBA. But, that is disappointing.

There were signs of that when she played for the Houston Comets.

I never paid attention, but I heard about it often living here in Houston How she thought she was going to be the star of the team just because of who she was and didn't take it well when Cynthia Cooper basically became the best player and face of the franchise.

So yeah, I think the signs were already there that she could be petty like that.

You don't have to watch the WNBA. It's filtering through social media right now.
