The Cooking Thread…

Grilling tastes so much better. Will take a grilled steak with the chance of fly fun being on it over a stove cooked steak every single time.

A grill is better than a griddle for some things.

But I could see that a Blackstone would be awesome to have for breakfast, smash burgers and a number of things.

I'm not saying that they aren't useful. Just saying I'm not doing it in my house. Well at least the ones that I associate with being a Blackstone. We do have an electric griddle but it's small enough to fit on my counter.

I had a Camp Chef 4-burner up until we moved to our new house in Feb, I misspoke and accidentally gave it to my agent.

I went with the Camp Chef at the time because when I bought it, it was well-known that the heat distribution on the CC was much better than the Blackstone.

From everything I have read, the new Omnivore griddle that BS has come out with has completely changed that around, so I went and bought the Blackstone 2 (I think it's the model 2410) at Dick's yesterday on sale for $449 (regular $699).

Although after I got it all together last night I see that the igniter switch is missing :angry

Looks like I'm gonna wait a few days to fire it up... I can't wait.

Just two weeks ago I sold my 28" pro series (2 burner) and bought the 36" Culinary Series Omnivore Griddle from Blackstone with 4 burners and the extendable table. The only thing it's missing is the magnetic tool holder strip, but I see I can order them from a third party on Amazon, will just have to figure out how to mount it.

I now have a Blackstone Griddle and a Traeger. If money was no object, I probably would also get a gas grill..... but I would never go back to having a grill over a Blackstone.

Some various cooks on my old blackstone before I upgraded to the 36”.

I have a 36" in Blackstone, too. It's great. When it's just me and my wife, only use two of the burners. But when company or the kids are home, the extra space is damn nice.

Also, I used to use a gas grill but went back to coal about 6-7 years ago. Takes longer to get it ready to cook, but it's well worth it for the flavor, imo. We still have a small gas grill if I'm only making some quick hotdogs, burgers, brats, etc... But for chicken, steak, porkchops, etc... You can't beat grilling over coal.

No way would I use one in the house. They smoke... a lot.

I have the 36" 4 burner as well and love it. While cooking OUTSIDE. Jesus, Geng.

Those things are a pain in the ass. My kids bought me one years ago for fathers day, and I ended up just getting rid of it. Just patty up your burger by hand. Forming them evenly is not hard, and it's just as quick if not quicker, and don't have to wash the damn thing.
That's what I do. Roll it into a meatball, smash slightly to get a flat spot on it, then throw some parchment paper over it and press for about 45 seconds. Those things he had were... an abombinanation /2233

No, and I'll go one better, I don't currently even own a grill. I had one years ago and I used it maybe once. I don't like it at all.
Plus why cook a burger when you can just go to McDonalds, amirite?
