Charean makes a good point, other teams recognize that they’ve hit a certain ceiling with their QB’s and waste no time replacing if they don’t develop or produce in a certain amount of time. Why doesn’t Dallas do this? Because the owner “knows” this one is good enough and that’s that.
Plus he knows he’ll whiff again and/or die waiting .

To be fair the DT in the first is a long term investment. You aren’t supposed to see that immediately.

And their third rounder tore his ACL.
I think the base D/run D needs more snaps from Mazi.

I have to agree. Cooks is talented and fast, and apparently a Dak favorite during TC. What is the problem?

Maybe it's not McCarthy's fault?

A lot of people are acting like McCarthy has never done this before as opposed to the reality that he's done this for multiple decades.

I don't think McCarthy's offense has been great so far but I also think if given enough time it'll be fine.

It's also not lost on me that it looked very good at times in the first couple games.

It's a work in progress and they need to figure it out, but I'm not going to pretend he's Jason Garrett just because things aren't currently perfect.

It’s not all on Dak. McCarthy needs to stay out of the play calling role. His first down yardage is pathetic and that’s what put Prescott on the hot spot trying to make up for third and long situations. He couldn’t deal with those constant circumstances and he turned over the possession to many times. Kellen Moore got a lot more production out of Prescott than McCarthy ever will. If Dallas has any chance of being productive the play calling has to change. It also negates Pollards production because it’s totally predictive what the first down play will be. The offense can be a lot better but the plays and the players used are going to have to be changed from the schemes McCarthy is using.

It will only be fine this year against the lesser opponents. I just dont think its something that can be fixed midseason. The constant shuffling of the Oline and Pollard not being the RB1 that we need I think are hindering us. He kept harping about the run game so at least the RB issue should have been addressed in either FA or the draft. I love Deuce but never thought he would be much more than a RB3.

That's pretty much what I mean. People are freaking out right now because of the most recent game and because it hasn't been amazing throughout the season.

It won't be amazing at any point this season but I think it'll be pretty good and certainly better than what they showed against SF.

That's kind of what fine means.

The offense and team generally are clearly not championship level but they'll be in that second tier mix where they've been the past couple years.

I think expectations are that we improve upon the recent division level postseason losses . Same old, same old does not cut it.

That's correct but that's a different conversation. I'm talking about the people who are calling for McCarthy's head right now. It's not as bad as people are making it out to be.

It's because people assumed that part of the reason McCarthy got rid of Moore was because he had some sort of plan to do better against SF, which is obviously out the window.

That's not to say he is incapable of coming up with some sort of masterstroke later in the year, but I think that's where lots of the anger is coming from.

Wanting to get rid of McCarthy now is preposterous, but if we have a few more performances like that and/or the red zone struggles persist and/or the offense craters again in the playoffs, I wouldn't argue against it after the season.

If he gets them to 12-5 for a third straight year you'd want him gone? That's preposterous.

Depends on how the offense looks throughout the season and playoffs really. Since next year is the last on his deal I'd probably say just let it ride for one more year, but if the offense shits the bed in the playoffs again and they get rid of him I wouldn't shed any tears.
