I’d still take my chances. Here’s why: if I know that I’m going nowhere with what I already have, I’d rather take a chance on someone else. At worst, we still don’t go anywhere. At best, he goes further than the underperforming player we currently have. It also frees up a ton of money to spend everywhere else to stack the roster as much as possible. We can’t do that with 2.0.
I'd have a lot more confidence going this route if the Jones family weren't in charge of the QB search. It's well documented how atrocious their track record has been since Aikman's retirement. They landed on Romo and Dak out of pure blind luck.

speaking of, did you see the recent article about Johnny Football attempted suicide after Browns cut him?

Anyone read Osa's necklace there? :doh :doh :doh

Literally everything broke in their favor last year. They beat up on a team that literally didn't have a QB in the NFCCG and even in the Super Bowl Mahomes was playing against them on one leg.

They were IN THE SB for the second time in three years, versus . . . let's see . . . oh, gosh, 27 years ago? Something like that?

Maybe, but the problem is you'd have to trade way up for Levis.

So now you're not just out Schoonmun, you're also out probably Overshown and maybe even more.

For a guy in Levis that may or may not bust. As of right now I'm reading he might not even win the backup job in TN.
Doesn't have to be a trade up for Levin. Literally anyone at our second round pick would have been a better pick than a soon to be 25 year old who was injured before the draft on top of them telling us they didn't take a better TE prospect because he was supposedly hurt. Looks like we're back to gambling away second round picks on injury risks because they knew he was hurt. And Schoon isn't even an elite athlete to bet on.

I agree with this. O’Cyrus Torrence went with the next pick. There were 3 more TEs taken in the next round. I would have been just as comfortable with any of them over Schoon

The Cowboys cling to guys like Dak and Romo like grim death when they are not Mahomes level and the difficulty in replacing them is not all that hard. And I was a huge Romo guy.

The difference between Dak and league average starter is far smaller than the difference between Dak and the elite.

And they didn't win. So by your own criteria, it doesn't mean shit. Winning is the only thing that matters, right?

Mahomes level
Come on, now. I get people being frustrated because Dak isn't as good as they wish he was. But how many people are Mahomes level? Hell, people are saying he has a chance to be the best ever.

Quantifying it with something this absurd is just silly.

Yes I saw the headline but didn't read the story.

I know money doesn't solve all problems but the guy had a soft landing after his NFL career flamed out. From what I've heard his family is pretty well off. So he wasn't going to be hurting for money like most players in his position.

Stafford played on the Lions. I don’t think anything else needs to be said there.

And, I have no faith in our ability to even sniff a Super Bowl with Dak, so I’d take the draft picks.

So the Cowboys organization is great? It's just Dak?

I'll let Jerry know how highly you think of him.

Hey, let's just roll through QBs until we find the next Mahomes. A guy who literally is the best ever possibly. Fuck, some people must want to die before we try to win a Superbowl.

I kinda liked the part where it said Romo and Dak wouldn't be hard to replace at all. Just dial up 1-800-ELITEQB, I guess.
