I never said we were better run or they weren't good organizationally
No.Here's a scenario -- I fully expect a shit storm of scorn on my head -- but what if instead of drafting Schoonmaker in the 2nd round, they'd traded up to pick Will Levis in the 2nd round? A lot of draft gurus had him in the top 10.
What message does that send to Dak? It sends a message to the whole team -- the only constant is change.
At this point almost anyone would have been a better second round pick than an injured TE that might not make any kind of impact until he is 26 years old....when most players are looking to cash in on a second contract. Here's a scenario -- I fully expect a shit storm of scorn on my head -- but what if instead of drafting Schoonmaker in the 2nd round, they'd traded up to pick Will Levis in the 2nd round? Correct. Levis is certainly not one I'd trade up for. Hell, I wouldn't have wanted him at our own pick. I think he busts.Maybe, but the problem is you'd have to trade way up for Levis.
So now you're not just out Schoonmun, you're also out probably Overshown and maybe even more.
For a guy in Levis that may or may not bust. As of right now I'm reading he might not even win the backup job in TN.
I’d still take my chances. Here’s why: if I know that I’m going nowhere with what I already have, I’d rather take a chance on someone else. At worst, we still don’t go anywhere. At best, he goes further than the underperforming player we currently have. It also frees up a ton of money to spend everywhere else to stack the roster as much as possible. We can’t do that with 2.0.And take a dice roll on a QB in the draft. Come on, man.
Hence, why he needs to die.Well, we don’t and won’t have that. Now what?
Rodgers forfeited $35M to help the Jets win. Don't expect a similar act of charity from #4.But I'm sure it will because his cap hit next year is over 59 million.
Stephen Jones will be the same thing.Hence, why he needs to die.
Agreed.Yea he should be getting an extension around 45/year, that'd be fair for everybody involved. If he acts like a prick about it and pushes for 50+ they should see what they could get in a trade.

You could've traded down a bit and still got Hendon Hooker...Here's a scenario -- I fully expect a shit storm of scorn on my head -- but what if instead of drafting Schoonmaker in the 2nd round, they'd traded up to pick Will Levis in the 2nd round? A lot of draft gurus had him in the top 10.

This is a point I've repeatedly made and why I was so down on the Cowboys last season. They operate with so much nepotism that there is no sense of urgency like you see with the Eagles and other organizations. The Eagles made the playoffs as a WC team in 2021 and the following offseason they went all in signing free agents and making trades to address their weakness. They aggressively improved their roster because thy understand windows of opportunity don't stay open long in the NFL. And because their jobs depend on it.Win one with Foles in 2017, come really close again three years later with a different coach and QB, and well-stocked again for the 2023 season. That's not an issue of a QB, it's an issue of a well-oiled organization run by people who know their shit. That's light years of difference between the Jerry and Dufus clown show.
Literally everything broke in their favor last year. They beat up on a team that literally didn't have a QB in the NFCCG and even in the Super Bowl Mahomes was playing against them on one leg. They are clowns that lucked their way into a super bowl appearance.
Their toughest competition in the conference was US. What does that tell you about their run last year? Frauds. It's just that everyone in the conference was a fraud.
