Trade Dez Bryant?

And then you have the worst WR corp in the NFL and your passing game stinks next year. Which was my point. You're robbing Peter to pay Paul and your offense will still stink. Hell we saw a dramatic improvement in our O-line last year and ended up with very similar results on offense.
Gee, we had mediocre results even with the great Dez Bryant? Then how was he revolutionizing our passing game like you claimed? Bad point.

In any case, I agree, I'm creating a hole at WR by making this trade, no doubt about it.

I'm saying I'll focus on rebuilding my team going forward (you'll notice in my original post, I said "this signals a complete rebuild, start pawning off other assets too") by building around the lines. I can build a solid WR corps by adding a guy in the mid rounds like Brandon Cooks, Jordan Matthews, Josh Huff, or Bruce Ellington. Add one of them to go with Terrance Williams, Dwayne Harris, and Cole Beasley, and you have a WR corps that isn't bare bones, at least. It lacks a true #1, but teams like the Pats have got by for years without one. Williams and say, Cooks, are both legit starting WRs in this league as well, it's not like our situation in 2008 when we had Terrell Owens and nothing else.

Yes, that WR corps has taken a step back, but the step forward I've taken with the OL makes up for it. I can put together the better team GOING FORWARD with this approach, even though my team this year isn't as good without Dez.

In any case, it's all a worthless hypo, since no one would ever overpay for Dez by that much.

Not at all. You don't have a control with Dez. The Oline in Dallas you do. Meaning you have 2012 when our line was horrific and basically the exact same talent and coaching as 2013. 2013 was a much better O-line but similar results on offense.

You don't really have a control year where you can say our offense was the same but the only major change is Dez. That's why my point was valid.

I know but it does show that you dont have to have the WR to win.
Yeah, but only if you have coaches smart enough to do so.

I agree that Dallas loved Pugh. But I don't want my elite probowl guard playing LT or RT. Just like I don't want my elite probowl LT or RT playing guard. Every year we hear about Dallas having an extreme hardon for one of these guard/tackle tweeners.
Then we would play him at OG, just with the added versatility of moving him to tackle in case of injury, seems easy enough.

Dez Bryant can be a building block for years to come. Wide Receivers age better than every other non-QB position (or ST specialist). Dez' game doesn't rely on speed either, which is another plus for him.

His physicality is the only thing that worries me because it can get him hurt, but he's been healthy for two straight seasons.

A similar but lesser player in Anquan Boldin is still going strong in his 11th season.

The offense was much better in yards per carry in the running game. The only reason the offense wasn't better was our dumbass coaches refusing to ever run the ball.

A second TE improves both blocking and receiving abilities.

Jerruh's way ahead of all you chumps.
