It's an old rule/law dating back to the 1600s that essentially assigned minority status to anyone who has a black ancestor. Doesn't matter if it's a parent or a great-great-great-grandparent. If it was traceable that you had a black ancestor, you were considered black in the south. That's why individuals who are mixed (black and white) pretty much always get classified as black to this day.
Hell, I'd bet if we dug deep enough, most people would have somebody of color in their ancestry.

Just like most people of color probably have a white guy hiding in the woodpile somewhere along the line.

Exactly. We're all a bunch of mutts, which is why the very idea of trying to keep any racial group "pure" was always insanely stupid. Not to mention obviously racist.

Holy shit. The left wing just collapsed when he started to pull up. The people right below him are damn lucky that plane sunfished and went out another 100 yards or so before falling. If the wind had caught it a little differently, it might have just nosedived straight down right into them.

I don't think that's why, today.

I think it pretty much comes down to what you look like and present to the the world.

For example, Elizabeth Warren supposedly by DNA test is between 1/64 and 1/1,024 Native-American.

And yet was intensely ridiculed for claiming to be native American. Because she looks, dresses, and acts lilly white.

She was ridiculed because claiming 1/64 heritage of anything is stupid, and disingenuous. Like when I said we all have black ancestry. That doesn't mean I should go around claiming I am black. Also, because she is an ignorant turd of a human being in every sense of the word. She should get more ridicule.

So, basically nothing then. That's why she was ridiculed. That and the fact she was trying to use her bogus ancestry for political leverage.

I've had my DNA tested. I have something like less than 1% Ashkenazi Jew ancestry. Which are from the tribe of Judah, one of the 12 chosen tribes of the old testament. Does that give me the right to go around claiming I'm one of God's chosen people from the bible?

Seriously, does it? I mean, I might get some good shit outta that.

You were hoping the plane would have divebombed and killed everyone that was involved in yet another of these God forsaken gender reveal parties?
