The fact the school board elections in the DFW area were swept by conservatives should tell us the local level is engaged. That is where it has to start.

If we learned nothing else from Covid, local and state governance completely changed how we had to live through it. If I had lived in NYC or DC through all of this, I wouldn't be living in NYC or DC anymore.

I couldn't imagine having to live through the lockdowns that were imposed in blue states.

The one thing about Abbott's response that pissed me off. He eventually fixed it, but he bent, which is not a good look. DeSantis didn't bend once. We need those people in charge of our government.
