What I actually find more telling by this is Fauci's refusal to give a number. People do that because they don't want to be accountable when the numbers do reach that threshold to then say it's ok to back off. Fauci will never say it's ok to back off. He's no longer a star or an authority figure at that point. People would forget who he is. His business is continuing to make people terrified of a virus because that's good business for him and the people who support him.

If all he cared about was public health he would say hey, when we get this thing under 1000 new cases a week and 70% of the population is vaccinated we should be safe. Or whatever threshold he believe should be met. But he won't say that. He won't ever say that.

Jordan is completely right, but he could ease off the grandstanding a little. I think these guys would make their point even better if they were more calm and didn't seem angry like he does here.

But of course Fauci doesn't care about liberty or freedom. He cares about one thing, -- the virus numbers -- because that's how he's judged. Loss of jobs, depression, social isolation... he doesn't have any concern for those things.

That's why you don't leave major societal decisions up to a specialist like him.
