Random interesting thing just happened that I'm not sure what the hell it is but I feel like I want to talk about it...

I'm on lunch at work in my office building in Wilmington DE. I'm taking lunch in the lobby of the building. There are many offices and businesses in this building of about 15 floors. I have no idea what any of them do.

So I'm taking my lunch in the ground floor lobby where any and all random people can and do congregate / lunch / lounge. I'm sitting in a booth and randomly sitting next to two professional looking women who I can only see through the reflection of the glass in front of my booth.

And I'm starting to pick up their conversation (not even trying to, they are just in the booth next to me) but they are speaking in hushed tones.

And I'm starting to hear what sounds like a political conversation from them. But not just a political conversation, but strategy.

I could tell pretty quickly that they were leftists, because theytalkedlikethis? if you know what I mean. And I think they mentioned Obama a couple times.

And I didn't hear a lot of what they were saying but they were talking about engaging with influencers and trying to get them involved "on the team".

They also talked about Georgia being an important swing state and trying to help them out with people on the ground, and trying to find people to go down there.

Just a weird random conversation to overhear in the middle of Delaware.

Update on this that no one asked for.

I knew I wasn't crazy.

Turns out that Harris' campaign headquarters are in my building. :lol

Makes sense when you realize that she just really stepped into Biden's campaign, and Biden being from north Delaware had his headquarters in Wilmington, so she just took over.

I overheard more strategy today and then saw someone with a Harris / whatshisface sweatshirt on and I had to look it up. It all makes sense now.

I asked my son the other night about why in the hell his generation gives so damn much of a shit about politics. His answer was interesting and pretty much right. You can’t help it when it is constantly in your face.

I don't think overall they give a shit about politics. But they love to virtue signal. And what better way to do that than latch on to something that is thrown in their face 24/7?
Yeah, for the younger age and generation it's not actually about politics. It's about feeling cool, accepted and being part of a group or part of something. I think that stuff literally feels like life or death to the young generation. It's something I think most people grow out of as they get older. But for most 18, 19, 20 year olds or whatever, it's the only thing that feels like it matters in their lives.

I also suspect it's pushed on them in school whereas when we went to school, that was never discussed.

But I still wonder how much they actually care, like you say.

They definitely push it in school. But I remember stupid shit like that in highschool too. Like I remember kids organizing some sort of a protest at the flag pole in highschool. Couldn't even tell you what it was for and was obviously pointless but it sure made those kids feel important.

But do they actually care or have a clue? I'd say no. It's not really about making a difference.

100% true. Just watch Charlie Kirk talk to college kids. I would say 95% couldn't answer the question he gives them when trying to "debate" him. It's always some rambling- you're a doodie head remark. They got on social media though. Look at me fighting the good fight.

Yep. I just saw one the other day where this prelaw student was trying to argue why gender studies should be required for prelaw (LOL) but she couldn't name the father of the constitution or when it was written.

Hell, look no further than these pro-Palestine protests. They have no clue what they are actually protesting about.
