That's just stupid to even try and claim that. Two years into Trump's presidency, could you say that the country was worse off than 4 years sooner, (like it is now), during Obama's? No, you can't. And if you think it was, then I just don't know what to tell you.
I'm not directing this at booze or anyone on here. But I remember even as a kid wondering how anyone could defend communist and authoritarian countries when they so obviously were inferior economically and the people suffered. Sure, the people in those countries couldn't do anything about it because they had zero power, but a lot of people actually believed those societies were better off. How could they claim that?
Now I know, because I see bits of it here. Ideology is more important than reality. People will say it doesn't matter if inflation is the highest in 40+ years, or that we're planning on wrecking our economy by eliminating oil and gas, or that it's fine for people to steal from stores in broad daylight, because their devotion to socialist/environmental/"equity", etc. principles is more important. Never thought I'd see this in our country, but here we are.
