President Trump Thread (Part 2)

It's not just about fentanyl. It's also about getting reciprocal trade agreements. We've been getting the shit end of the stick for way too long.

Not according to the WH website

There might be ancillary reasons but that is not the official reason given.

Yeah, doesn't make a whole lot of sense considering the disparity between Canada and Mexico. I would think that it would have more to with economic reasons.

Edit: It does mention in the link you provided that Mexican cartels are setting up more superlabs in rural Western Canada.

Cry harder.

One side has all this energy and the other is sitting on the side like the fat chick at prom that didn't have a date.

I don't think anyone disagreed that he exaggerated. He does it all the time.

While I'm concerned that the Supreme Court stopped Trump from demolishing USAID, I don't see how given their ruling on that issue that they'll allow him to unilaterally end the Dept of Education.

That has to go to Congress.

Even if he tries to starve it out, the next President can just beef it up again.

I don't agree or disagree - I simply don't care what the exact number is because it distracts from the actual point that we've given them over $100 billion dollars of taxpayer money and we shouldn't be doing that.

The truth is that I doubt we actually know exactly how much we've sent over there at this point.

But even the lowest estimate we're told is way too much.

THAT'S the point.

If you're quibbling over the exact amount it's simply an attempt at attacking Trump rather than discussing the actual issue of whether we should be massively funding a war in Ukraine that doesn't advance American interests and yet detracts from our ability to do something useful with our public money like pay down the debt.

Whether the exact dollar amount Trump cites is precisely correct or not is an intensely myopic criticism that should be given zero credence whatsoever.

Didn’t they rule that USAID had to honor contracts that were already completed?

I thought I read that. Meaning it can be ended, but only after it pays out what it already owes?

It’s not that it’s not the EXACT amount

$120B or around there is bad enough.
So why does he feel the need to lie and make it triple the amount?
