It plainly states at the top of the link that Ron Goldman was a friend of Nicole Simpson. That's the only connection I was trying to make.

How about just her friend? I'm pretty sure everyone knows Ron Goldman was a male. The term boyfriend implies a romantic relationship. At the very least, it implies more than just an acquaintance, which is all he really was.
