Garbage time isn't the best way to put it in todays NFL. If our defense did anything we would have been right back in that game. The Chiefs have kimd of shown that trailing by 24 points is far from a nail in the coffin.
That’s trap thinking. The Chiefs are this very rare kind of thing. Take away that recency bias.

Please.

When Chicago was playing full on, we couldn’t move the football.

When the Green Bay game was starting out, Dallas’s offense couldn’t get out of its own way.

When those teams built a comfortable lead and their defense let up, all of a sudden we’re picking up all these yards.

Kellen Moore just isn’t part of the solution.

He’s the biggest weak link on our coaching staff, and at the second or third most important position.

An up and coming assistant maybe, but not the top guy on offense! How the Hell did that happen?

Oh yeah... Jerry

Had we made the field goal in the fourth quarter it was literally a 7 point game. By the way that was the second field goal we missed in that game. So no it wasn't just garbage stats. We legitimately were a stop on defense away from potentially winning that game.

Your problem is the problem a lot of people have. It's unrealistic expectations. Your offense isn't going to come out and dominate every single game out of the gate. You have to take the season as a whole.

The defense was definitely the main problem no doubt about it

The crazy thimg is we were sixth in scoring with the worst startimg field position on offemse and the worst field goal kicker most of the season. You fix those two things and we would have been at or near the top in scoring offense.

So is Kris Richard actually involved? We have a new defensive coordinator and a new secondary coach. So what the heck is he doing? Personally I want him out. He's a good motivator but a shit DC.

Oops, missed this. Got my wish.

Report: Cowboys won’t retain Jon Kitna, Kris Richard

New Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy will not retain defensive passing game coordinator/secondary coach Kris Richard or quarterbacks coach Jon Kitna, David Moore of the Dallas Morning News reports.
Kitna, a former NFL quarterback who played 13 games for the Cowboys in 2010-11, spent only one season tutoring Dak Prescott.

The Cowboys will move tight ends coach Doug Nussmeier to Kitna’s old job, according to Moore. Nussmeier coached the team’s tight ends for two seasons, but he has a long history as a quarterbacks coach and an offensive coordinator in the college ranks.
He worked as an offensive coordinator at Alabama, Florida, Michigan, Washington and Fresno State. His only other NFL experience outside Dallas came as quarterbacks coach with the Rams in 2006-07.
Richard, 40, interviewed for the Giants’ head coaching job earlier this month. Now, he’s looking for work elsewhere as an assistant coach after two seasons with the Cowboys.
Richard had a year remaining on his contract, per Moore.
Mike Nolan is expected to become the Cowboys’ defensive coordinator, and Richard played for Nolan in San Francisco in 2005, so it was thought Richard might remain on staff.
It became obvious he won’t with the Cowboys hiring Texas A&M’s cornerbacks coach Maurice Linguist, who spent the past two seasons down the road in College Station. Linguist has never coached in the NFL.

For the record...

Spags stated on Talking Cowboys that McCarthy claims that had he taken one of the other jobs in NY or Carolina, he'd have still gone after Moore. Seems McCarthy really wanted Moore.

Also, Moore lobbied for Nussmeier.

That fits with what the local guys have reported, scuttlebutt was McCarthy wanted OC,DC,ST coaches in place first then wanted to get their input on positional coaches
