Not quite sure where this is from. They wanted to bring him along slowly and he certainly showed flashes last season. Enough that they felt comfortable parting with Avery.
His development had nothing to do with moving Bradley...they needed cap space to sign Hayward.

They did, but you don't make moves like this just to sign an above average talent. You do it knowing you'll be okay at that position as well. Ainge isn't so reckless that he would create a hole on his team to fill another.

If I was Clev I would go to Phx and go for Booker and either Knight or Bledsoe.

Gilbert has made it so easy for Lebron to leave next year...he would have had his jerseys burned again and whatnot, now he can leave as a departing hero.

I saw a 3 team trade scenario yesterday by a popular NBA media site (kind of like Inside Hoops) that claimed a discussion had taken place between the Knicks, Suns, and Cavs.

In the scenario the Cavs got Eric Bledsoe and Carmelo Anthony. The Knicks get Kyrie and Tyson Chandler. The Suns get Kevin Love and that French rookie PG who the Knicks drafted this year.

That seems fair all around. I especially like it for Phoenix.

He really has. I said it about a month ago once the GM got canned. I think he looked at the landscape....the Warriors loaded roster, the mountain of luxury tax he's already on the hook for, and the fact that he at least already has 1 championship in hand....and decided to cash in his chips.

Building a roster to compete with the Warriors would heap even more luxury taxes on his plate and realistically speaking there's really not a personnel move out there that would have put them on par with the Warriors. So instead of wasting money just to get back to the Finals to lose in 4 or 5 games again, I think he's not so subtly trying to nudge Lebron out the door.

I'm perfectly happy with the Cavs imploding. I'm pretty much fed up with the Cavs/Warriors Finals. I'd rather see some new faces in the Finals.

Looks like Derrick Rose has agreed to a 1 year $2M deal with the Cavs.

Kind of surprising that he'd settle for that little. A guard of his caliber easily worth a at least $15M per year.

Irving really wants to play for the Knicks. I really hope it works out for him...it did wonders for Carmelo.

Kyrie is not returning any communication with the Cavs now...good lord, this kid has botched this badly.

The Suns are morons...they will not include Josh Jackson in an Irving trade. Bledsoe and Jackson is still not enough IMO.

Rivers has been relieved of GM duties. Interesting...I wonder if this would mean his son could be traded now.

Marvin Bagley, the number 1 player in 2018, reclassified to 2017 and is going to Duke, which means he will be available in this next draft.

Porter/Bagley/Doncic/Ayton/Bamba could be the strongest top 5 in a decade.

Shame the Bulls are still ran by complete dipshits but at least this is a hell of a year to tank.

It has to be somewhere between 2-5 for them to get it though, no?

1st (lol) or outside of the top 5 and they don't get it.
Correct and I'm good with that. They are a bottom 5 team and so it will take some lottery craziness to knock them out.

Since they added Lopez and KCP I don't think they're a lock bottom 5 team, they're certainly in the conversation but I think it's pretty clear that at least the Hawks, Bulls, Knicks, and Nets are worse.

Then you can easily make an argument that the Magic, Pacers and maybe even the Suns or Kings are worse, perhaps even the Mavs as well.

Either way, I think there are clearly 4 worse than them and then there isn't much separation between them and about 5 or 6 other teams.

I know those other teams are bad, but look at the shit on the Lakers roster. Lonzo is going to be a non-factor and the rest of their starters are dogshit. Lopez hasn't been anything great since his foot injuries. Unless Ingram vastly improves, they are bottom 5 to me.
