I still love me some playoff baseball, and for that reason, I'm really looking forward to Red Sox vs Yankees.

Been too long since we saw that rivalry in the playoffs, so wind down the next few evenings with a few cold brews while I watch that series.

Can't wait. :towel
Every team that I route for seems to fail hard.

Go Yankees!!

Well he led us to one title. I guess its back to the back of the line for us with a payroll that is decreasing and a managerial search.

I had to look this up. What happened, did he want out? Or is this a firing they tried to make sound better?

His contract was up. It was only a 3 year contract but Im pretty sure that if he wanted to continue they would have offered another contract. They did offer another job in the organization if he wants it.

I know he was frustrated at the end of the year with the players dedication and then the news of the payroll being lowered im sure he probably felt it was time to hang it up.

May be a quick hire as a lot of people are speculating that Skip Schumaker is the heavy favorite to get the job.

Good news.

Your payroll is about twice what the Twins' is, and they're looking for a new manager, too. So you aren't at the very back of the line at least.

Shit, I think he's exactly what the Astros need to get back on track next season.

A veteran skipper would be perfect for them and I've always liked Bochy and I think he can provide a lot of the same things Dusty Baker did when they brought him aboard when most thought he was too old.

They need to get healthy and they'll have to be active on the market to shore up pitching, but they still have enough talent at the plate and in the field to get things going with the right manager.

I hope they go for it.

The Giants job opened yesterday as well so if he manages I would imagine it would be back with them.

Red Sox/ Yankees has been every bit as good as I had hoped.

It's a shame it's only a 3 game series.
