So, was McCarthy actually “fed up”, or was that an assumption by the writer? And it’s really no big secret that things are different in Dallas (for a myriad of reasons).

This is the real killer quote if he actually said it:

Over the offseason, Go Long noted that head coach Mike McCarthy was growing “fed up” in Big D. As this 2024 season careened off the rails, I reached back out to a source for more on why specifically McCarthy was growing so frustrated and this exact cafeteria scene was referenced. Distractions all around him, this person says McCarthy turned toward one of his co-workers and said he never would’ve taken the job if he knew it’d be like this.

They wouldn't dangle Carroll and give us Moore ... would they?

I think they can't find anyone reputable they can sell to the fans. Those guys aren't coming here with staff picked out for them, a chosen one in waiting, and an 82 year old football retard blathering nonsense after every game.
I don't think they even tried.

I think it's odd to hate a coach for being "old" or "conservative."

How about caring if the guy is a good coach who gets the most out of his players or not?
I thinks its just the way things are now. Offenses are soo much more aggressive as well as playcalling. People tend to associate that with the younger coaches because they are the ones doing it. I dont dislike Carroll and would actually prefer him over every other candidate mentioned.

My recollection of Donahue was that he all but had the job and Jerry ... wait for it ... tried to cheap out on the contract.

And Donahue walked.

Yep and that could be happening right now too.

Odd that Moore was the odds on favorite, then suddenly Schottenheimer was the odds on favorite, now suddenly there's a flurry of reports that we're looking at other candidates despite just having interviewed Schottenheimer for almost 10 hours across 2 days.

It just reeks of the organization unsuccessfully trying to lowball their candidates.
