Kellen Moore is literally my worst case scenario.

Let me tell you how bright this guy is... He had a chance to coach the offense with no involvement from Jason Garrett whatsoever after Garrett was fired.

And what does that goof do? He still incorporated so much of that awful fucking scheme.

He has no idea on how to attack zone defenses and this was never more evident than it was in that damning video attacking his concepts that Kurt Warner made after our loss to San Francisco in the playoffs in 2021.

That's why his dumbass was one and done in San Diego and why Philly fans have been complaining about his passing concepts all season.

And unlike Deion, he actually does want to teach X's and O's and he's going to insist that he either run his offense or whoever his offensive coordinator is runs his offense.

WE'D BE GOING RIGHT BACK TO THE AWFUL OFFENSE WE ALL WANTED TO GET RID OF!

On top of that, he has no skins on the wall nor any connections. I have serious doubts about his ability to assemble a good staff.

And lastly, as I said before, do you ever see that goof commanding the respect of an NFL locker room?

Can you see him laying into the team and letting them have it after a bad day of practice or the players actually taking him seriously when he does?

No fucking way.

That's another advantage Deion would have over him -- he'd have the respect of the players on day 1 because he's one of those athletes the generations after him always revere.

Now, in order to maintain that respect and attention he'd have to win, but at least he'd have that on day 1.

Kellen Moore will never have it.

I forget who it was that said this but according him there are still parts of Garrett's offense still here. McCarthey hadn't fully changed everything.

Just a few other things he said, he acted like it would be good to bring on Witten as an assistant. Thought that could work with Kellen, and he could almost be like Jason was to Wade (HCIW). Suggested that could have been something Jerry wanted and Mike refused because he didn't want to be looking over his shoulder. Acted like Mike was paranoid about Quinn the years he was here and didn't want more of that.

Also, thought Eberflus would be a good DC here.

Maybe he would, but this guy sounds to me like a kid who grew up during the Garrett era and thought things were pretty great then, so he wants to re-create that. Especially because Dak would like it.

The whole idea is just gross IMO.
WAY too many comfortable names in that reply.

Kill me and get it over with.

How about neither?

This debate shows exactly why we should have kept McCarthy instead of low balling him and watching him walk away.
Of course! We shouldn't even be in this situation.

But because we are, we have to hope for the best of a bad bunch.

But comparing him to Parcells and Belichick? I don't think so.

You think either of those guys would allow the circus that follows Deion? I certainly don't. (remember how much Parcells hated the drama around T.O.?) And that circus would hit hyperdrive in the Dallas spotlight. I want no part of it.

And why should we bend to Deion being able to assemble a good staff, but just discount Moore from doing so? But anyway, DAMN you for making me defend Kellen Moore. For the record, I don't want any part of him, either. But if those are my only two choices, I take Moore.
Would you take Deion more seriously if he didn’t have all the flash around him? To me, it’s not so much the limited experience. The gold chains, the 10K sunglasses, etc I think really undermines his ability to look professional.

Because he's an idiot.

I want no part of that guy as our coach whatsoever.

What's really scary is a few different people have said -- based on something Jerry said in a radio interview -- that we'll look at people not really under a lot of time pressure, and/or "outside the box" names. People took that to mean maybe some college coaches, but they all have such huge buyouts that I can't see that being it. No idea what Jerry has in mind.

But maybe it's just someone like Kellen who few, if any, other teams would want.

Moore did some semi-decent things in terms of production, but how is he HC material?

Hell, I would go with Whitten and his cheap ass hair piece first.

I don’t think that goober could handle a whole team. The personality is just not there.

I’m not sure how this team could get any more hopeless. Ownership incapable of finding the right direction, a QB incapable of delivering in big situations, probably one of the worst collections of skill position talent in the league, one pass rusher worth a damn, no ability to stop the run, it goes on and on.

Now we can add incompetent head coach to this rudderless mess as well.

Who in their right mind would commit any of their time or energy to this mess, let alone paying to support it?

You know how I know there aren’t 500 coaches out there that would kill for this job?

Kellen Moore is actually a legitimate candidate being floated out there. Jason Witten is an actual candidate.

Jerry and Stephen finally killed what Jimmy built for them 20 something years ago. That’s a long time to coast on someone else’s success.

Jason Witten fits that profile. :tippytoe
