That's not true. I read he turned down a job a while back. He was actually a hot candidate back when he was with Jets I believe and they want to back to back AFC Championship games.
Uh huh. And what other team is trying to pry him away from us for their HC job?

Not exactly. So 15 years ago, he turned down an interview request by the Buffalo Bills.

At the time this is what he said "I didn't feel that I had to take this interview," Schottenheimer said. "I have the experience. I've done three of them and I've come up short in all three of them. I didn't need the experience. I'm happy, I'm content and we've got a big game to play this weekend."

This was with the Jets when he was given made props for the development of Mark Sanchez...

You can't make this shit up.

Like if you asked me a week ago to come up with a completely insane nightmare scenario I couldn't have come up with this bullshit.
:lol

It's almost as if they consciously made a list of coaches who they thought would be willing to accept their shitty conditions.

I mean, for the list to be THAT bad? They had to have intentionally narrowed down the list to coaches who they thought would accept this awful position and they know no respectable coach would go for it and that's why you don't see a single decent name on it.

Seriously though, Rex would be a great DC. But with his ego, I can't see him taking a coordinator job here. Wasn't he claiming once that he talked to Jerry but Jerry wouldn't pay him enough? I think when Mike was hired?

Didn't he interview for our DC job last year? And I believe Schottenheimer coached under him so there's a connection. It actually makes a lot of sense from a football perspective.

There's no damn way that we spent close to 10 hours with him and he's not going to get the job.

I'm also convinced that Moore was absolutely their first choice but they heard something they didn't like in that phone call with him.

I'm guessing he probably shot down the Witten idea or communicated his desire to pick his own guys and that was the end of his candidacy.

Or Moore didn't want to accept minimum wage.

Shotty was Rex's OC, so now Rex can be Shotty's DC. Kind of a weird role reversal 15 years later.
