So you are stuck with a failed OC living off his last name, or maybe a guy like Moore who could be comfortable with the way they do things in Dallas.
Hell, at this point I'm not sure even Moore would want the job.

He does have other teams wanting to speak with him too, right? So for as much as I don't want him, he is drawing HC interest from other teams so it's not like he HAS to take this job.

If you're Moore and you've got other franchises willing to give you the opportunity, why on earth would you accept that foolishness in Dallas when you can call your own shots somewhere else?

The HC position in Dallas is completely setup for failure this year and beyond so I don't see why any coach with aspirations would sign up for it.

I'll say it again.... Schottenheimer is Dave Campo all over again so I can see why he would take it because this will be his first and last HC gig he'll get. But if you're Moore or some other young coach that actually is drawing interest around the league, I can't see them signing up for this.

Thank you for pointing that out to me.

Now I can predict the douche level. No pencil, so that is a decent sign.
Oh, that's there for sure. Visor, forearm tats... Watch some of his PCs, there's some cockiness there.

I guess some could argue that's swagger and we could use more of that. :shrug

If he breaks out the joggers, I'm totally out.

Seriously though, Rex would be a great DC. But with his ego, I can't see him taking a coordinator job here. Wasn't he claiming once that he talked to Jerry but Jerry wouldn't pay him enough? I think when Mike was hired?

This really makes no sense to me. If that's what's happening why would it take until Friday?

But I wouldn't put it past Jerry to try to time the shit for maximum exposure. Even though every person will fucking hate it and most of the reaction will be negative. And frankly I hope the media people are honest and don't sugar coat this bullshit up to make Jerry feel better. I want them to sodomize him for what he is doing. Metaphorically speaking of course.
Gotta figure out those incentives. How much for each win, each game where they score over 20 points, ea h game they beat the spread, how many players go on IR, mentions of the cowboys in national media, etc

Comparing this to Campo is so accurate. Except I was a lot younger then and thought his connections to Jimmy might be a positive. I can see the train wreck from the start this time.

So Schottenheimer hasn't been hired yet? I'm confused.

There's no damn way that we spent close to 10 hours with him and he's not going to get the job.

I'm also convinced that Moore was absolutely their first choice but they heard something they didn't like in that phone call with him.

I'm guessing he probably shot down the Witten idea or communicated his desire to pick his own guys and that was the end of his candidacy.

The only positive is you know in Dallas you'll have a few years. Some of these other franchises swap coaches every year.

So the guy was a terrible OC choice. The offense regressed under him. No one in the NFL wants the guy. And we are like, yep, perfect head coach he is amazing?

This whole thing seems almost too ridiculous to be possible or true. But never under estimate the Jones boys.

I'm literally just sitting here hoping this is all a stunt to help BS get a job somewhere by acting like he is super special, while at the same time leveraging it as a way to try to get the price down on a different coach.

And yet my heart tells me that come Friday he is going to get announced as the next head coach and I might as well just give up the NFL for a few more years.

When this fucking guy makes sense, you know it's bad.

But it's an easy answer -- they just want a spineless puppet that will allow them to operate comfortably and do things exactly how they want to do them.
