Seahawks Waive Sixth-Round Pick OL Garrett Scott
Nate Bouda May 23, 2014
The Seattle Seahawks announced that they have waived sixth-round pick OL Garrett Scott with a non-football illness designation, per Bob Condotta.
It was determined that Scott has a rare heart condition that led to the unfortunate decision to waive him one day after he officially signed a four-year contract with the team.
•Curtis Crabtree mentions that the Seahawks’ decision to sign Scott is a nice gesture by the team as it will likely entitle him to receiving his signing bonus.
Scott offers both great size at 6-foot-5 and showed the ability to play multiple positions during his time at Marshall.
I’m sure the Seahawks were really excited to see if he could should some ability in offseason workouts and training camp.
This is really sad news for a young kid who has worked really hard for an opportunity in the NFL.
