About a month ago while shitting I posted that they need to just give him 4/156 with about 110 guaranteed and be done with it given that it'd give us much more flexibility and save at least 5 million against the cap this year.

Glad to see it took these putzes all this time just to give him basically the exact same deal but at least it's over and generally acceptable.

About time.

Now let's try to fix the defense and make a run at a SB.

You add a difference-maker at NT and S, and get some quality depth along the line and at LB, and there's no reason the Cowboys can't be just as good as any of these other good but flawed teams in the NFL.

Let's go.

I want to see numbers, particularly where we stand going into FA.

You have seen the numbers that matter. He will only count 25 mill against the cap this year. Give us 12.2 mill more to work with. On top of the 25 mill or whatever we had roll over, plus we can create about 30 mill in cap space with restructures. We will be in a good place. Now, the question is, will we spend it?

Whatever, I have no confidence in the players, coaches or management of this team after last season’s debacle.

Show me or I don’t give a shit, I care less and less each day anyway.

Lafreniere is starting to heat up, let’s go Rangers.

I just didn't see them placing the franchise tag on him again when they have so many holes to fill and limited cap space. Unless they were willing to sit on the sidelines during FA, they pretty much had to get a deal done.

They are going to do that anyways.

75 mill of 160 mill in the first year should make the math pretty easy for you.

I'm kinda surprised we haven't seen Jaylon Smith's name on the chopping block. Plenty of other teams are already shedding bad contracts. The Dolphins cut Kyle Van Noy the other day and he's actually a good LB who still had a few years left on his contract.

Makes me think they want to restructure his deal and keep him on board.

Probably so. At least for the first week while all the quality free agents are being scooped up.
I think the good news is there should be more quality free agents this year than most years because of the cap crunch and teams being forced to purge. So maybe there will be better options on the second round of free agency.
