If we could trade him for 3 1's and change I'd be perfectly fine with it, especially if it's the Jets or Dolphins with multiple 1's this year, but it's hard to see that happening.
Assuming we could get 37 mil under the cap so we could sign/trade him.

Dallas is way too stubborn and not nearly creative enough to do that. No, they will cave and spin it into making a big splash paying Dak around 50-60 million more than they would have just a year ago.

That'd be tempting but I don't think I would do it even for 3 firsts. You'd pretty much have to start over.

Maybe I'd do it I don't know. If we re-signed Dalton or brought in like a Garoppolo or something. But we'd have to put major, major resources into the defense.

I honestly think the quickest and easiest path to a championship is re-signing Dak, even more so than getting 3 firsts for him. With Dak, everything other than the defense is in place. But you only have to get the defense to mediocre or about league average. Without Dak the defense would likely have to be good or even great unless they yet again get extremely lucky on a QB.

What if one of those firsts is the 2nd or 3rd pick, to go along with another 1 this year and their 1 next year?

That's more or less what I was imagining when I mentioned the Jets/Dolphins, and while I don't think Wilson or Fields are sure things by any means, the prospect of having a QB on a rookie deal with two 1's this year, two 1's next year, and presumably a good amount of cap space would be very enticing.

I agree that signing Dak is the clearest path to title contention, although if you hit on that rookie gamble and have 4 other 1's between 2021 and 2022, your ceiling is higher, even if way more risky.

At the end of the day resigning Dak is the most logical solution, I'm just thinking through alternatives if dumbledore Stephen can't figure out how to do a 4 year deal.

People are losing their minds on Twitter because Prescott is not in this hype video.

Kind of a mix though...

With Dak, a decent backup QB, and some OL and RB depth the offense is set.

We are starting over on defense any way you slice it.

I guess Dak won't be signing autographs at Spaulding's birthday party anymore.

Ugh, nepotism at its most noxious. He's about as qualified as Andy Reid's kid.
