Especially out of this class.

Beyond Lawrence, I don't trust any of them to be top shelf.
Hell, even Lawrence is not a sure fire thing. Remember when Andrew Luck was supposed to be this generational talent? He was not that. He was a good but not great QB who fizzled out very fast.

Tell us how you feel about Trey Lance.

I will sit back and listen.

Good potential. But his 18 game experience is a no go for me. Plus...do you think we have a QB guru on staff? I don't.

I can't imagine their actually not signing Dak.

If Stephen does have sticker shock -- which I think he will and won't be the only one -- I would bet this is when Deddy steps in and makes him just do it.

But if somehow they didn't sign him... wow. Things sure would get interesting.

He was good, not purty good. And, where he was taken sends him into a not great pick category. If I had spent that #1 overall pick on a QB to only see him leave the league in a few years, I would be pissed.

If we don't sign Dak we are set back at least 5 years. Which leaves all of the talent we just acquired in the same god damn category as Ware/Dez/Romo/etc in the "we missed the window category.

Gallup/Lamb/Cooper/Collins/LVE/Diggs/etc all are out the window. We start over.

Yet a fucking gain.

Nah. More and more young QBs are coming into the league and succeeding right away, and not paying a QB $35 to $40m would help us in other areas.

Draft Kyle Pitts and sign Mitch Trubisky.

If they don't sign him they need to trade him and reset the roster. Or trade for Russell Wilson, either way.
If we don't/can't sign him long term, I'd prefer to trade and draft a QB. I'm not interested in an older, expensive QB. IF we're gonna spend that kind of money, I'd prefer to give it to Dak over Wilson. Especially if it will also cost us draft capitol on top of the money.

Not quite sure I'd put guys like Diggs, Lamb, Gallup, LVE in that out the window category, if we had to start again with a rookie. They're still pretty damn young. Hell, Diggs and Lamb were rookies last year.
