I won't speak for anyone else but I still feel extremely confident in McCarthy and this new coaching staff being able to guide next year's team to 10+ win season.

I've always pointed out how important coaching is in this parity driven league. The talent on most teams are very similar. Therefore, a good coaching staff and proper game management is often the different between 6-10 and 10-6. So with McCarthy being >>>> Garrett, I'll comfortably bet that this team finishes 2020 with 10 wins or more.
Ditto.

A trip down memory lane to simpler times:

I remember when the Cowboys traded for Joey Galloway in 2000. I was on the ESPN message boards at the time, and only 17 years old (Jeez.... I’ve been around some of you guys on the internet for the majority of my life at this point).

The price was steep at two firsts, but at the time I was still deeply invested in Aikman/Emmitt and Jerry Jones, and there is just nothing quite like the excitement and euphoria that that trade brought me. I was sure they had just added a total stud who was gonna put up Pro Bowl numbers for years with Aikman. I poured through page after page on the message boards of confirmation bias as we all exulted in such a bold move to land a dynamic WR who would be around for a long time.

Man, there just are no moves to be made that give me those feelings anymore. I’m a jaded old asshole now.

you must have blown your wad when Jerry signed Deion. That was the last sure thing free agent star that lived up to its hype, IMO

Back then I was on an AOL board. We all hated it. And we were right. We all knew Aikman was washed.

You're now older than I was when I first joined this board.

I was there but I honestly remember the excitement. I feel like I was miserable not having a first round pick. But I also remember being excited with how awesome I thought Galloway was.

I remember everyone asking each other "Any news on Deion?" all day every day. Count me in as one who lost my shit (in a good way) when it was official. I knew we were back on top.
......good times

Okay, this is rare for this board, but I'm dropping a hammer. Stop this bullshit squabbling. It's one thing to disagree with each other (we do that a lot), but it's an entirely different thing to go at each others throats. I won't tolerate this shit anymore. Stop it. I haven't even read this whole thread and I already know this is out of fucking hand. Like I said, stop it. You can disagree without being dickheads to each other. I suggest you disagree without being dickheads to each other, or we just might be down one or more dickheads on this board. I am not pointing this post at any one poster in particular. It's a general post reacting to some of the pointed and aggressive posts in this thread. Jesus Christ, just fucking stop it.

Please just don't make us start moderating like the god damn idiot mods at the Zone.
