I don't think I'd call that reasonable. He's hit those numbers twice in 5 years, and hasn't done it since 2020.
To be fair, he was a #3 then behind Cooper and Lamb. And last year when he was supposed to be our #2, he wasn’t fully healthy.

Is he going to be a #2 or #3 this year?

Yeah, I'm skeptical with Gallup but I also think what he is going to do in the newer offense is going to fit him better. Plus the injury usually takes a full season to kind of get your explosion back from. Finally it's going to help to play with Cooks and Lamb as the #1 and #2 receivers. Again we can go back to the days where we pick the weakest link and attack them. Last year we couldn't really attack a teams weakest link on defense because we didn't have the fire power.

As of now, it would seem he's #3. That may change over time and as Gallup's health/recuperation and abilities rise or fall.

I think he's clearly #3, which makes it even less likely he'll hit those numbers.

Like I said before, it's not about the total yards with him. It's about the efficiency. He needs to catch a higher percentage of the balls thrown his way. 50% is a pretty bad number unless you're just a pure down field threat. Again, getting 10 yards a catch last year is pretty awful if you're only catching half the balls throw at you. Give me 60% completion percentage when thrown to and I'll take it. When you're not getting double teamed and you're not going against the other teams best 2 corners, that should be expected. The closest he has ever come to that number was 58%. But that was also the year where he averaged 16.8 yards per catch. Which is awesome and tells you that he was a deep threat catching lower percentage passes.

Gallup had nearly 500 yards over half a season in 2021, if he's healthy and anywhere near 100% he's going to be fine.
Yep, and I do think he'll be better another year from the surgery. Plus, hearing some criticism for probably the first time in his Cowboys career will probably spur him on, too.

This is still basically trading Amari Cooper for Brandin Cooks. Would anyone do that? I doubt it.
yes for the 16mil pus cap savings that didn't cost us a playoff game because without without coops 22mil we lost to the 9ers..this is for basically the same draft capital and production for a 8 million cap hit. um yes coop was a fine player but Cooks career along with OBJ all 3 virtually have about the same career production and bring the same type of impact to team. its true, the luv affair with coop still 2 offseasons later is puzzling. hes never been elite nor special just very good starting WR.. that cooks, they both have nearly mirror image of careers 6 1k yard seasons both can pull coverage and help the other wrs..

not sure i feel the same way as the coop fan club. this is complete upgrade from having to start the season in 22 with Lamb as the 1 and brown the 2 and tolbert the 3 and unhealthy Gallup comes back a very average player..

Now Lamb year 2 #1, a Healthier Gallup, and Cooks. that is a positive for this offense.

I will take cooks for 8mil over Cooper 16-22mil all day every day.. outside of age, there not much difference production wise, none really.
