So, anyway, this was a good trade for us.

An excellent trade no matter how you slice it.

If you want to make an argument for why it sucks we even had to do this, that's fine. But the argument shouldn't have gone past 2 or 3 posts and certainly not over 2 or 3 pages.

I don't know, I'm just a firm believer in not continuing on with a discussion or debate once it's been clearly established that there's no convincing one side or the other.

Right now I view it as a duo until Gallup shows me more. He wasn't good last year. Hoping it's because of the injury he was coming back from because I liked him a lot before that.

This assumes Gallup can give us something around 50/700/5, which is pretty reasonable if he actually does take another step forward from the injury. The fact that he had a procedure right after the season ended tells me it's likely he wasn't 100% and should be better.

Considering the fact that Cooks literally produced exactly what Cooper did between 2018-21 I'm fairly certain he can give us similar production, unless the argument is that he's fallen off a cliff which is extremely presumptuous based on a very small sample size.

He's not our number 1 WR like Cooper is in Cleveland so he probably won't get as many targets, but I'd be shocked if we got anything less than 65/900/5 if he plays anywhere near a full season.

We can file this one away for 8 months from now.

Also, so you are saying that De'Andre Hopkins is currently better than Cooper as well?

Yeah he has always been a guy that catches a lower percentage of balls thrown his way. Right around 50% last year. That's not good but if you're getting 14, 15 or 16 yards a catch you live with it. Last year while only catching 50% of passes throw his direction he averaged 10 yards a catch. That's kind of pitiful stuff.

Get back to 14 yards a catch and catching 55% of the balls thrown at him and I'll agree. Raw yardage doesn't matter to me because he is no better than the third option. But what he does with those opportunities obviously does matter.

The good news is I always thought he was an excellent slant ball receiver. We just don't use it enough. Next year we will. I expect a lot of slant, flat combinations with Cooks running the flat and Gallup/Ceedee running the slant.

We were one of the worst WR rooms in football last year. Adding Cooks doesn't put us into the top 5. Adding Cooper wouldn't put us in the top 5 either.
