Cowboys’ free agency approach has been drastically altered by past blunders and it needs revisiting

The problem with your philosophy is Jerry & Stephen Jones don't know shit about acquiring franchise QBs.

Since Aikman retired all of their top QB choices have been train wrecks.

They lucked into Romo and had to "settle" on Dak.. If not for some outstanding luck they'd have walked out of the 2016 draft with Paxton Lynch or Connor Cook.

So no thanks, I don't want the Joneses leading the search for a new franchise QB. Because history has shown that the QBs they covet are the Quincy Carter/Paxton Lynch/Drew Hensons of the world.
Your results have been the same with the 2 qbs you cited as all the bums lol. Dak and Romo combined for 3 playoff wins lols, in 17 seasons lols

I will take my chances instead of guaranteeing never winning a SB paying mediocre qbs

I am no Prescott fan, but I cannot help but still feel good fortune if he can really kick it into high gear.

Now if he doesn't get over this pussy of a past season, then all bets are off.

He could be a victim of the Oikos curse.
Ya year 7 he is gonna turn it on and just become a totally different guy LOLs

No, it is not. The QB in this league carries a price tag.

Or, you freak out each April and trade up for some QB who won't be in the league in five years.

The fact is, we fumbled his contract negotiations from the beginning.
The fact is just bc other bad teams do things does not make it smart lol. Great we can be mediocre to bad like the Vikings lols ...

We've all seen Prescott's best. Gutting his WR arsenal is only going to make things worse.
No disputing that. I am an optimist by nature and I think he can pull it all together this year.

Dak-friendly WRs. I don't think Amari was Dak-friendly.

You are not going to get an elite top 5 in the NFL route runner at 24 so this offense will not be as good. This offense will look more like it did in 2018 than in 2021 ...

Oh and that is literally bc of Dak's contract lol
Not at all. Cooper counts like 5 mil against the cap for the Browns. So no, we didn't have to dump him because of Dak.

And honestly we won't be as good at receiver next year, we all know that. So you have to get better elsewhere. Like LG or your number 2 TE. Give me Salyer and Woods and our TE room looks way more badass and the Oline has a chance to be better. Or Zion Johnson or Kenyon Green or whoever at guard. Connor Williams was a problem last year.

LOLs

But seriously, I think Dak could be better this year. I'm hoping being a year removed from the devastating injury may help him.

Dak is perfectly capable of being a Super Bowl winning QB. Romo was as well.

The problem is the organization.

Stafford is a perfect example of this. He isn't anything special but he's a very competent QB who was finally rescued from football purgatory and placed in a sound football environment.

There's no doubt in my mind that Romo & Dak would have been better off if they weren't handcuffed by the limitations of Garrett & Kellen Moore.

Plus it's a huge bonus having a front office that actually prioritizes winning and is held accountable for their actions. While other front offices are scrambling to improve because their jobs and livelihood are dependent on what plays out on the field....the Joneses sit back and do the bare minimum because no one can fire them.

Learn what tape is

The fact you are even including Romo in the same convo as a guy like Stafford is actual comedy. Fans like you will blame endless line of OCs, coaches and owners for players who are not good enough.

So every QB that has won a Super Bowl has performed like Tom Brady in your opinion?
