Another thing about Washington that I mentioned on one of the random podcasts that we did in the offseason with
@boozeman and
@mcnuttz is that they've kind of worked themselves into a shoot based on the unexpected run they made last year.
They actually believed they were that caliber of a team and traded resources for aging vets (Tunsil is 31, Deebo will be 30 in January) despite the fact that their roster isn't actually that talented to begin with. Not to mention trading a 3 for Lattimore last year who is completely washed.
If you take Daniels off the table who are their best 5 players? McLaurin who is 30, Bobby Wagner who is like 36, Luvu who is like 29, and Tunsil/Deebo who are pushing 30+.
They have very little top-end talent on the roster, which got ignored because of their run, and then they went and traded a bunch of picks for aging dudes who will be done in about 2 years. Now they're out both their 2nd and 4th next year (on top of picks in this past draft) and who do they have on the roster that they can really bank on as cornerstones for the next 5+ years?
