Random thoughts after watching the all-22:
-Even ignoring the pick-6 Bland was excellent, like one of the best tackling performances I've seen out of a Cowboys CB in years. I think he had at least two physical tackles on 3rd down just short of the sticks to prevent a first down and then was basically single-handedly responsible for stopping the 2-point try in the 1st quarter. That type of performance shows me he isn't going to be a lemon of a big contract like Diggs.
-Murray, James, Osa and Clowney were all excellent, Clowney looks like he might be our best edge player if this is what to expect now that he's knocked the rust off a bit.
-Fowler is quietly rounding into form as well, he's not amazing but he looks like a competent starter, which is more than I could say for him earlier in the year.
-Conversely, Simple Sam might be our worst edge at this point and he's running basically even with guys like Houston and Clowney in terms of snap count, I'm guessing as the year goes on his snaps will continue to decrease.
-Solomon Thomas is very underrated, one of the few guys who consistently brings the energy/hustle and it seems like you can count on him to blow up 1-2 runs a game with his penetration.
-Markquese Bell held up really well against old man Ertz in man coverage a few times, Ertz is old but he's one of Daniels' favorite targets, and it was Bell who came up with the big 4th down stop in the 2nd quarter.
-Hoffman is an excellent 6th OL and he's really saved our asses with Beebe being out, but I thought he was clearly our worst OL, which is saying something with how inconsistent Guyton and Steele are. It'll be nice to have Beebe back.
-Still not sure who is worse between Guyton and Steele but one is a 2nd year guy on a rookie deal and the other is in his 6th year or whatever with $15-20M cap hits. I think I'm seeing improvement from Guyton though so it's probably just a matter of time until it's clear.
-Booker is going to be special, possibly even better than Tyler at some point during his rookie deal. Payne beat him clean on a Pickens catch in the 3rd but other than that Booker stood him up in pass pro all day.
-Not sure Tyler is 100% healthy, it's not hugely holding him back but there's little things here and there that don't look normal and like he has a bit of a limp. Hopefully he can get back to 100% over the bye.
