Steele was coming off a worse injury and was never really as good as Ferguson to begin with, I think they actually paid Steele higher relative to his position as well.One good year, like Steele. This is Stephen trying to look clever than be clever.
I'm not really worried about Ferguson's play or talent level relative to the deal because I've said plenty of times recently that I think he's a good bet to get back to his 2023 level. My bigger concern is that a better player at a more impactful position leaves (Pickens or Bland) because they already committed a deal to Ferguson.
