I would be getting concerned, but it is Kiper.

He has never nailed a Cowboys pick to my recollection, much less predict it this far out.

Interesting he thinks no WR will go before 12.

If I could actually believe his prediction I'd be trying to trade down like hell. Golden at 16 and McMillan at 20 would provide a hell of a lot more value than Hampton at 12.

He also has us taking Trey Amos in the second round at corner.

Kiper luckily is not a dependable predictor. Because those being the first two picks would not make me feel warm and fuzzy. I like both players but we need to nail this draft and taking a RB too high and following it with a corner would not feel great.

And even worse, he has Kenneth Grant going one pick before us in the second round. Now getting him in that second round? That would be a homerun type of pick in my book. Or hey, take Tyler Booker in the second round. Just mash the hell out of people with the best run blocking interior O-line.

Never in his entire career has he ever thought you should take a RB in the first? I find that hard to believe.

Also, there's obviously a huge difference in "first rounders." Number 12 overall isn't the same as number four overall.

I doubt we take a RB at 12 anyway unless it's Jeanty. We'll wait to the second or later, or trade down in the first before we take one.

People always say 'just trade down' like it's such an easy thing to do. But you need somebody that WANTS to trade up to be able to do it. Or be willing to be fucked in trade compensation while talking somebody into doing it.

I think we usually have offers. We usually have multiple offers. But yeah, it's also possible that no one is interested. As fans we almost always want to trade down and never trade up. But GMs don't think like fans.

There's absolutely no chance in hell we take Hampton if McMillan is on the board.

Give me McMillan (or Golden) and Tyleik Williams and that's a grand slam.

I'm a big fan of the second and third round picks here. I think TJ Sanders goes unmentioned but I really like him as a player. I'm always a fan of the 6'4" 300 poundish DTs that have the height, the length and power. Guys who can rush the passer and stop the run. None of us have really talked about him much but I wouldn't be shocked to see the guy be an impact NFL DT. I'd have him over Collins for sure.

I'm also a Royals fan in the third. I think he is a really good player who might be one of the last receivers in this draft that I think is not only worth taking but that can step in right away and have an immediate role on offense.

Will Johnson though is just such a meh to me. I'm just not sure what it is about him. I can't get excited. I don't know if it's the injuries, I don't know if it's the lack of a 40 time and questions about speed, I don't know if it's the fact that he kind of doesn't look that physical tackling to me. And drafting him, with no trade downs means we are praying that some backs we love fall to the fifth round which is just kind of scary. But it wouldn't shock me to see something like this. We thought Dallas would take a RB last year, we looked at lots of guys and then on draft day we just sort of sat around talking about the RBs and always "missing out." I do think RB this year will stretch into the fifth but banking on it is a scary thought.

He does this shat…. Putting things out there to influence it actually happening. He believes his mocks and rankings actually have that reach. All I know is it would BE a reach to draft Hampton that high
