Even the players know the Cowboys aren't serious about winning.

That's part of the reason why I think players are hesitant to leave money on the table when negotiating with the Cowboys. They know the team isn't going to use that money to improve the roster.

I don't blame them in that regard. I wouldn't leave money on the table either if that money is not going to be used to help me win a championship.

Lawrence basically said as much. Said the team wouldn’t spend the money to put the pieces in place to win a SB.
Too many ex Cowboys say the same thing for it to not carry weight. I’m glad Lawrence is gone, but it still fucking sucks to hear what we all know is true.

While I agree with you on one hand, on the other you could say that the rosters we had were capable of being a 2 and 3 seed in 2021 and 2023 with two home playoff games and they completely shit the bed each time.

Of course Jerry and his stupidity fosters an atmosphere that isn't conducive to winning, but the fact remains that those rosters got themselves in those positions and choked like dogs each time.

You can't really fault the organizations cheapness for that.

Sure you can. A couple better playmakers on those teams you referenced and I bet they get to the SB one of those times. Instead of spending a bit more money for a true difference maker, Jones and company settled for vets on their last legs or guys no one else wanted.

Philly was a good example this year of sprinkling money across the roster for under the radar guys that were still playmakers ….a few plays by a couple of them definitely propelled them to that SB win.
Dallas has lacked those underrated or unheralded playmakers for years….maybe even back since Jimmy left really.

Imagine if these guys put the same energy they spend bickering like 12 year olds into winning a SB.

But, he seems cooked and he's going to be 28.

My biggest concern is that they use this as an excuse to not draft anyone at RB.

Hell I want to see two RBs drafted or at least a second draftable guy from UDFA.

I'd like to say the Panthers suck and that's why he hasn't been good. But Chubba Hubbard sort of shows otherwise. Which tells me he may just be cooked and useless. Maybe a different system and awarding different use will help him but I doubt it.

Ultimately in no way should it change our draft strategy in a stocked RB class. But I get the concern because well it's the Cowboys and we have found ways to not draft a legit RB for years now.
