I'm well aware that the hire may end up being Slowik or someone of that ilk, although I'd be a bit surprised if Jerry hired a first time HC since that's not really his MO aside from his adopted son.

If they go off the reservation and hire Marvin Lewis or some shit I'll just stop watching.
Absolutely agree … we have to stop signing old fossils …..

Gailey was also a 1st time HC here, as was Campo. We've done it a few times so I don't think it's out of the question, although unlikely.

I don’t think Zimmer would be marketable.

Jerry is not that senile…yet.

Yeah, I think there's a world in which they'd go with Zimmer. But not the way the defense has played this year. There's just no way to justify Zimmer.

Gary Myers says Parcells regrets quitting when he did and has told Belichick positive things about working here...

I still think he's too expensive, on top of everything else.

Yeah Jerry hates spending money on coaches. But I also think Jerry has to realize that after this year he has to do something to get the fan base re energized. It's been a really negative offseason that has rolled into a really negative season. At some point he is going to realize that his pie examples don't work with coaching staff hires.

Yeah, and as defiant as he is, the constant critiques and questioning of his methods and decisions do get under his skin.

So if he's ever going to make another coaching hire like that again, it'll be after this season.

Parcells didn't, I don't think Belichick would either.
He is already so closely tied to Brady for his success, flaming out in Dallas would only cement the idea that he wasn't good enough to win without Brady.

Parcels bailed because he was sick of ownership bullshit. Parcells would never have signed a cunt like Terell Owens.

If not Belichick it'll be Vrabel right?

I can't imagine Jerry hiring a first time HC after his comments a week or two ago, although maybe he gets all juiced up about Ben Johnson or something.

Please God yes.

I believe a better option than X and O wizardry on offense is to do what he did in Tennessee. Take the ball out of Dak's hands, build a tough running team that plays defense, and hope for the best. Similar to 2016 (at least on offense).

Of course, Jerry is always going to be an obstacle to building a tough, physical team, but for the first couple of years you might have a shot.
