Meanwhile no criticism of Dowdle, who on the other plays basically got exactly what was blocked and nothing more.
Dowdle sucks too.

I can't believe this is the RB group of the Dallas Cowboys.

It looked like Mazi was playing with effort and passion that I hadn't seen from him in other games.

This is exactly what I felt also. As much as anything else, the effort made the difference for him last night. He just seemed way more determined for some reason.

Acho homering out a little for his fellow Longhorn, I'm sure.

It was by far his best game.

I know that isn't saying much given his total body of work, but he legitimately played well last night.

I hope something clicks for him now and he can build off of this.

Confidence is huge for athletes so if that performance served to raise his, that could be the key to taking the next steps forward.

Fucking really? He got 7 yards on that run. :lol And he got tackled by Martin's guy, who Martin just inexplicably let go.

Unbelievable how some of you guys just criticize Zeke no matter what.

Only 7 yards? Damn you Zeke!

Dowdle fucking sucks.

If it were up to me, Cook and Leupke get 80% of the carries next week with whatever is left to Zeke.

Zeke sucks too, but at least he can get tough yards because of his strength.

Dowdle is only getting yards if there's plenty of space created for him.

Yeah, I thought Tolbert looked solid. I think he caught every ball thrown to him. Basically he was catching stuff that Cooks wasn't. So you can either look at it as Tolbert is a better fit for the routes you're running or you need to run different routes.
Tolbert is fine as a 3rd WR option. Not sure if he will emerge into being a quality 2nd WR this season though

Tolbert needs to stop getting so many stupid penalties. Couldn't line up again, this time on a touchback where nobody even moved. :doh

He wasn't touched for 7 yards before he ran right into a dude. That's the problem with Zeke. He is a zero add. Don't get touch for 7 yards and you get 7 yards. Even if there is a lane just to the right that you probably could have gotten 5 more yards if you just continue that direction.

And Dowdle is nothing special, but he did break some tackles in this game. I have similar problems with him though as well. You'll see a hole in one spot and he will run right into the wrong spot where someone got upfield. RB is just a problem. No doubt about it. The more I see the more I realize it's not really the blocking. These guys just aren't creating anything.

They're both subpar, Elliott is more physical in tight spaces, Dowdle has a little more wiggle, either way neither of them are serious starting RB's.

I don't think we have any hope of doing anything this year but I honestly hope they make a minor move (i.e. a 6 or 7) at the trade deadline just so I don't have to be subjected to nothing but these two for the rest of the year.

:lol

Totally agree. Don't think this team is going anywhere this year, but please make a minor trade for some young baclup somewhere just so we don't have to watch 13 more games of this.
