FOX probably trying to flex NYG out of our Thanksgiving game. :lol

“…Desoto High School anyone?”

The biggest brand in sports against the biggest city in the country? Nah, they'll get eyeballs, they couldn't care less if the game sucks.

Mazi with the best game of his career?

Opponent or actual improvement?
Some of both. The Ravens game was ugly for him. You don't go from that awful to this good in a week. So who he played and how they played was probably most of it. But I also think his effort this week was a lot better. So obviously there was some improvement too.

Who knows, from worst game ever to best game ever. We have plenty of season left to find out where he goes from here.

Yeah, next up Steelers. If we win that game I'd maybe have some hope. The 49ers should just be penciled in as a loss.

Another hot take from this game, Cooks doesn't look very good. Tolbert kind of looks better...

Maybe we just need to use him differently but gosh for a guy whose game is built on speed DBs don't appear afraid of his speed at all. Maybe we just aren't throwing him deep so DBs aren't scared? But all the throws to him were well covered.
Cooks definitely gets smothered on the comeback routes.

Even the slant he did catch and made a nice play the defender was all over him. And we aren't exactly talking about a high end defender doing it. I just wonder if maybe he hasn't lost a step. But again, could be completely wrong and the routes Cooks is running have just become so predictable that it's easy for defenders. It sure seems like we are running a lot of slants, comebacks and flats routes.

Would sure be nice to have Amari Cooper in that role

There were some bright spots in this game. Beebe looked great. I know Guyton struggled with penalties but man the refs were not going to give him anything, if the defender was on the ground, it was a hold. Guyton needs to do better getting his hands inside though. He was just bear hugging way too much.

I watch that last run they showed with Beebe and frankly the whole line just bowling defenders backwards and all I can really think about it, how the hell did Zeke not get more out of that run. Why did Zach Martin just lazily block that shit. Zeke ran right to the defender with all kinds of room there still but Martin also just let the dude go like eh, play is over I'll just let the guy go. The older guys on this team really disappoint me.

Yeah, I thought Tolbert looked solid. I think he caught every ball thrown to him. Basically he was catching stuff that Cooks wasn't. So you can either look at it as Tolbert is a better fit for the routes you're running or you need to run different routes.

I can’t remember being as bored during a cowboys game as I was last night.
Yeah I agree. For a must win game at no point did I really feel like I cared that much. Plus it frankly was just a boring game. The Giants didn't really attack. They just sort of dinked and dunked their way down the field every drive. Dallas didn't really attack either. They had a couple of big plays to get TDs and otherwise they weren't doing much exciting either. And in the end it didn't really matter what happened because we all know this team isn't really going anywhere. We fix the run defense for one game. But then the pass defense just looked like shit instead. You're not competing with the top NFL teams playing like this. You're just beating the lowly Giants.

Beebe is already better than Biadasz and I expect him to start racking up Pro Bowls starting next season for about 6-8 years.

Guyton was always more of a project, assuming Beebe could transition to center which he obviously has, but I feel good about where he's at. He's getting called for some really ticky tack holds and the way he's getting beat (inside crossface primarily) is easily correctable once he gets a bit stronger.

I'm still just as bullish on the long-term outlook of the OL as I was coming into the season and it's really one of the only things about the team that makes me optimistic moving forward.

Yeah, that wasn't an easy game to sit through.

Between the poor quality of both teams and the refs with their ridiculous amount of flags, it made for a tough watch.
Yeah, flags really make a game unwatchable. It just disrupts everything and ruins the flow of a game. I get that you have to officiate a game otherwise there is no point in having rules. But when you're calling back good play after good play with a flag it just sort of makes the actual plays feel pointless. And I get that maybe I feel that way because almost all of those flags were against the Cowboys. But even if the Giants had an equal amount of penalties, just the pure number of penalties makes a game awful.

Yeah Guyton has potential through the roof. He is struggling with technique stuff. I just think it's going to take more time than a few months with Duke to get those things corrected. I'm still high on the long term potential there. Tyler Smith is already great. So I am with you on the long term potential of the O-line. Hopefully our next coach knows how to utilize it.

We have just been spoiled with the automatic success of our first round OL picks.
