Turpin catches a lot of shit on this board and I don't know why.

Only from one person I can think of...

Watched the all-22 of Mazi and didn't see anything special, although he was definitely way better than last year. Had a decent rush or two, generally held up fine in the run game but also got blown out a bit once or twice.

He basically looked like an average 2-down run stuffer, which I guess would be a win at this point given how last year went.

He's certainly contributed more than Godwin when you factor in the dropoff from whomever the replacement would be.

Yeah, I don't know if anyone really believe that Turpin isn't a really good return man. I just think it's funny when you start hearing reports about him at WR and RB and wanting to get the ball in his hands on offense 5-10 times a game. He just hasn't shown to be a real offensive weapon. He is a return specialist.

And like you said, if you're talking special teams Turpin at least is really good at something. Godwin is the roster spot that's wasted. I kept watching to see his greatness in week one. And of all the guys I noticed on special teams, he wasn't one of them.

I mean at this point I'm just hoping for someone who isn't a liability. Maybe we can work towards being more than that but his draft status doesn't matter anymore. We just need him to not be an issue when he is on the field.

Yeah it was a good clean hit but the entire time I was looking for the flag.
