Actually....I just thought of something.

I'm willing to bet that the reason why they don't put classic teams in the game anymore is because trash ass EA, with their obsession for nickel and diming consumers these days, wants people to pay for all that ultimate team shit.

Ultimate Team generates a shit load of revenue for them so they probably want to limit the classic players to only that mode and that's why they don't make them available on their classic teams because then you'd be able to play with those players in other ways.

Per Grok:

The most recent Madden football games do not include historic teams or players as official, pre-built features within the game. The last Madden game to feature historic teams was Madden NFL 25 released in 2013, which included the "Canton Greats" team, essentially an All-Time Greats team featuring players from the NFL Hall of Fame.

While historic players and teams are not officially included in recent editions, players can engage with historic content through Madden Ultimate Team (MUT), where legends and historic players can be obtained via card packs. For example, recent posts on X have shown that legends like Tom Brady, Terrell Suggs, and Joe Horn have been available in MUT for Madden 23 and Madden 25.

Moreover, community-created rosters and mods can add historic teams or players to the game for those interested in playing with historical lineups, although these are not officially supported by the game itself.
Just as I was mentioning that myself.

Yeah, stupid Ultimate Team is definitely the reason why the classic teams don't exist anymore.

I don't get the people who have some strong dislike of the Chiefs.

They literally hadn't won a playoff game in like 30 years prior to Mahomes, they've beaten some of our biggest rivals in the SB 3 times in the last 5 or so years, Mahomes literally grew up a Cowboys fan.

Like if 15 years ago you told me the next great NFL dynasty would start sometime around 2020, would 3-peat, and would beat teams like the 49ers and Eagles multiple times in the Super Bowl and gave me the chance to pick who the team would be, the Chiefs would've been top 3 on the list at least.

It would've been like the Chiefs, Browns and Chargers or something.

Definitely. Absolutely nothing wrong with the Chiefs. Classic franchise, middle of the country, plays outdoors on a grass field, loyal fans even during the lean years, likable QB. All good.

Exactly. And on top of all that they are coached by a former Eagles HC and that definitely sticks in the craw of some of their fans because he was good there but he wasn't doing all this.

Agree mostly, but not sure how likable a qb can be that flops like LeBron and tries constantly to get bullshit roughing the passer calls by flirting with going out of bounds.

Eh they have real fans but the also have a lot of Taylor Swift quality fans now. Living in Missouri they have become annoying to me. But nothing like an Eagles fan level or anything.

I find Mahomes is reaching levels of bitching and getting calls that I can't stand. There are select QBs the NFL gives this treatment to.

Nobody has to get it the way you do. Everybody fans the way they fan. I was talking more about present time when I brought this up. Those championships are so distant and frankly feels like a completely different franchise. Hell we used to make fun of the fans like in Cleveland, Detroit, Philly that would bring up their championships from years past. That's us right now.

Yes. Everybody would rather have won than not. It's just hard to hang your hat on that when the franchise is run like it is- with no hope.
Exactly. It’s a different story if you’re following a franchise stuck in shitsville because of poor attendence, keeping a loser coach around, no money to spend, old archaic stadium, terrible drafting etc. Many of those things aren’t changed overnight.

The Cowboys are bad because the owner and his family don’t value spending money and prioritizing winning above everything else.

They have the money to do WHATEVER they want. They choose not to do it.

The main thing I find irritating about them are all the bandwagon fans I know who couldn't tell you who their qb was prior to Mahomes. My Facebook feed is littered with red and yellow on game day and many of them call themselves Cowboys fans.

With all that, we are still way more irritating than the Chiefs.

And yet more casual fans hate us than a team that wins all the time. :picard
